Aug 19, 2014 2:30 PM - Eric: good afternoon everyone
    Aug 19, 2014 2:32 PM - Longestday: Hello Eric
Aug 19, 2014 2:33 PM - Longestday: How bad is the concussion on Simmons?
Aug 19, 2014 2:34 PM - Eric: not too bad...he will redshirt though. had his best performance of the year last scrimmage...coaches feel like they got what they expected in him. just want him to add weight.
Aug 19, 2014 2:34 PM - Eric: Matthew Jordan will be the #3 emergency guy... plan is to redshirt u
Aug 19, 2014 2:35 PM - Eric: *him unless they just cant.
Aug 19, 2014 2:36 PM - SidewalkJacket: Was Summers solid in camp? Didn't hear much about him
Aug 19, 2014 2:36 PM - Eric: Tyler Merriweather is close to playing... no decision made on him yet. leaning toward playing.
Aug 19, 2014 2:37 PM - Longestday: Seems like there was a lot more passing in scrimmages than in past... is it just me or does this seem true to you?
Aug 19, 2014 2:37 PM - Eric: Summers was just that...solid. nothing outstanding but mostly consistent
Aug 19, 2014 2:37 PM - Eric: I think there was more last scrimmage.
Aug 19, 2014 2:38 PM - Eric: Austin twins and Terrell Lewis will be playing this year...All expected to have big roles on ST.
Aug 19, 2014 2:40 PM - Longestday: Is there any chance of one of the twins playing A back or is it CB all the way
Aug 19, 2014 2:40 PM - jeffgt14: Is Demond still winning the battle over Noble?
Aug 19, 2014 2:40 PM - Eric: CB without a doubt for this year
Aug 19, 2014 2:41 PM - Eric: Yeah it looks that way...Noble has had such a strong last two weeks though. Close battle but Smith has the edge.
Aug 19, 2014 2:42 PM - Longestday: Is Golden under pressure at all at free safety?
Aug 19, 2014 2:43 PM - Longestday: Is Golden under pressure at all at free safety?
Aug 19, 2014 2:43 PM - Eric: He isn't a lock...he has to improve his tackling. he's going to start the year but he has to tackle.
Aug 19, 2014 2:44 PM - Longestday: internet is acting up....
Aug 19, 2014 2:45 PM - Longestday: Do you think this years OL will have better performance than 2013 as a whole?
Aug 19, 2014 2:46 PM - Eric: I'm not sure yet...im worried about it still.
Aug 19, 2014 2:46 PM - Eric: Speaking of that Chamberlain is starting at LT
Aug 19, 2014 2:47 PM - mts315: How is Isaiah Johnson doing? Haven't heard alot about him.
Aug 19, 2014 2:47 PM - Longestday: Yes that is a concern... I think he will be better than in 2012. I don't know how much better... just better.
Aug 19, 2014 2:47 PM - Longestday: Everyone else seems healthy. People playing as practiced and not through pain should count form something?
    Aug 19, 2014 2:48 PM - jeffgt14: You think Step gets redshirted?
Aug 19, 2014 2:48 PM - GTJoeBrew: Any idea when Marcordes will be back?
Aug 19, 2014 2:48 PM - Eric: Isaiah is the same as he was before...he does seem more comfortable i would say. Still has to tackle better.
Aug 19, 2014 2:48 PM - Eric: Haven't decided on Step yet...i would lean to RS right now.
Aug 19, 2014 2:49 PM - Eric: Marcordes should be back this week.
Aug 19, 2014 2:50 PM - Eric: Trey Klock likely to plan as Errin Joe can't stay healthy.
Aug 19, 2014 2:51 PM - GTJoeBrew: Glad to hear that about Tyler. Has he practiced at all at camp? Where does he stand as far as playing time?
Aug 19, 2014 2:51 PM - Eric: haven' decided on Brown yet...he's played well but we have Mason, Braun, Brigham and Devine.
Aug 19, 2014 2:52 PM - Eric: Hes been out since the first week....will see when he gets back. but he will start.
Aug 19, 2014 2:58 PM - Longestday: You would only use Brown if you need him right... unless he is beating out DeVine
Aug 19, 2014 2:58 PM - Longestday: You might play Trey to get him ready to take over next year and we need at least one backup.
Aug 19, 2014 2:58 PM - SidewalkJacket: With Burden winning the battle at C, do you see O'Reilly playing any G?
Aug 19, 2014 2:59 PM - Eric: I would use Brown as an emergency guy.
Aug 19, 2014 2:59 PM - Eric: Trey has to play this year.
Aug 19, 2014 3:00 PM - Longestday: Will Days Leggett and Laskey push out Connors after the GSU game?
Aug 19, 2014 3:00 PM - Eric: That has been discussed regarding O'Reily...he could be a backup at G.
Aug 19, 2014 3:01 PM - Longestday: That means they must really think Marshall could play this year.
Aug 19, 2014 3:01 PM - Eric: I don't think so...Connors is still #2 last i heard and hes fighting. Staff isnt sure what to do with Leggett.
    Aug 19, 2014 3:01 PM - jeffgt14: How's Chungong doing?
    Aug 19, 2014 3:01 PM - Eric: they love Marshall...hes the #3 emergency guy.
    Aug 19, 2014 3:02 PM - Eric: Hasn't been that impressjcew
    Aug 19, 2014 3:02 PM - Eric: impressive
Aug 19, 2014 3:02 PM - jeffgt14: You think Harrell sees the field more often as the backup WDE?
Aug 19, 2014 3:03 PM - GTJoeBrew: You mean they aren't sure about redshirting Leggett or they aren't sure about playing him at AB or BB?
Aug 19, 2014 3:03 PM - jeffgt14: Leggett could just be a C Back as well. Play him everywhere.
Aug 19, 2014 3:03 PM - Longestday: Need leggett for next year.
Aug 19, 2014 3:04 PM - Longestday: Unless you think they move him to ABack
Aug 19, 2014 3:05 PM - GTJoeBrew: I imagine we could use him at both positions next year...
Aug 19, 2014 3:06 PM - Eric: hard to know on Harrell with him still out.
Aug 19, 2014 3:06 PM - Eric: Arent sure about playing him.
Aug 19, 2014 3:06 PM - Eric: Leggett will not be at both spots...B back only.
    Aug 19, 2014 3:07 PM - jeffgt14: :nailbiting: NO!
Aug 19, 2014 3:07 PM - Eric: I am still of the opinion he plays this year.
Aug 19, 2014 3:08 PM - GTJoeBrew: Yeah, if he is going to be in the running to start next year, he probably needs the experience.
Aug 19, 2014 3:08 PM - jeffgt14: Good. How about McNair, could he play WDE?
Aug 19, 2014 3:09 PM - Longestday: I think Connors can run, but I believe Days can match his run and block better. This would leave me to believe that Connor's would be pushed out. in order to give Leggett reps
Aug 19, 2014 3:12 PM - Eric: McNair is starting at OLB right now...well he was but he got dinged up yesterday.
Aug 19, 2014 3:29 PM - Longestday: Is it too early to worry about next year : ) ABack and BB back look very young next year. I hope the freshmen come to play. Willis and Andrews followed by Snoddy will be it...
Aug 19, 2014 3:30 PM - Longestday: oh and Leggett at B Back
Aug 19, 2014 3:40 PM - Longestday: interesting vad tweet..One Family. One Focus. One Voice. Thank you God for leading me to JMU
Aug 19, 2014 3:50 PM - dressedcheeseside: I don't think redshirting Leggett is such a bad idea. I'd take a whole year as a rs sr over any experience he gets in mop up duty this year. He's gonna get plenty of reps in practice as it is. And then there's bowl prep.
Aug 19, 2014 3:52 PM - dressedcheeseside: I'm glad Vad's happy but his tweet should say "One me. One me. One me. One me."
Aug 19, 2014 3:52 PM - Longestday: Does practice replace game experience? Yes, I would not use him for mop up duty either. I would only play him if he could make it into the rotation for Laskey relief.
Aug 19, 2014 3:54 PM - Longestday: Looks like Hood has been ripping it up in camp for UNC...

Aug 19, 2014 at 3:56 PM - jeffgt14: If MLD is as good as advertised, he would be starting in what would be Leggett’s RS Sr year anyways (Leggett could be an AB by then). I think there’s more an immediate need for Leggett this year. He’s a baller and I want him in relief more than Connors or Days.
    Aug 19, 2014 at 3:57 PM - dressedcheeseside: Who's Hood?
Aug 19, 2014 at 3:58 PM - dressedcheeseside: If Leggett beats those other dudes out than play his arse. I'm not in favor of moving him up the depth chart if he's not better than them though.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:00 PM - Longestday: Elijah Hood....
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:02 PM - Longestday: We need more than 1 BB in 2015... 2 deep is a must and a third backup for injury.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:05 PM - dressedcheeseside: Aren't we still after one more Bback in this class?
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:05 PM - dressedcheeseside: What position does EH play?
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:06 PM - Longestday: Yes we are... but don't depend on people being ready to go their freshman year.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:06 PM - Longestday: EH was a RB that we were recruiting last year.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:09 PM - dressedcheeseside: Great, so we're gonna face EH and the kid who went to VT.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:09 PM - Longestday: Duke lost a LB and a TE. I think VT is having some injury difficulties on defense as well. Miami seems to like what they have except QB.
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:09 PM - Longestday: Right we will fave both...
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:10 PM - Longestday: Shai M something ??? will be playing for VT this year...
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:10 PM - Longestday: Both look to be starting or for certain next off the bench
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:12 PM - Longestday: I posted links for VT in the VT thread
Aug 19, 2014 at 4:13 PM - dressedcheeseside: As far as the roster goes, I'm more concerned with this year right now. After the season, I'll worry about next year's roster.
Aug 19, 2014 at 6:25 PM - daBuzz: Shai McKenzie is the kid's name you're looking for, I believe
Aug 19, 2014 at 6:26 PM - daBuzz: As far as Connors, look for Leggett to move up to the #2 spot. If he hadn't been dinged, he was already moving up the depth chart. I think you'll see this by week 3 or 4: 1) Laskey 2) Leggett 3) Days 4) Connors
