Just a great game. Entire team was playing so aggressive. All those diving after loose balls, fighting for balls being chucked up in the air with bad passes. This team wanted to win badly. Ole Miss couldn’t do anything on our D other than Saiz but they didn’t go to him as much as they should plus our help defense was tremendous with multiple strips when he did get it. Their 3’s weren’t falling but they were rushing every shot. Remember the old Gregory timeouts that you knew were going to result in an immediate turnover or shot clock violation? Every time we came out of a timeout we had a play that gave us an easy wide open basket to silence their run. Just a tremendous coaching job. I finally don’t have to throw things every time I see us call timeout. We had 7 guys play great basketball. Moore was excellent early on with his aggression. Had to pull him to calm him down but he made some great defensive plays. Heywood was incredible all night on the defensive end. Jax made some huge shots in the low post, made some great defensive plays, and some tremendous assists. Stephens was really efficient. Not a ton of points but got 10 on a high shooting percentage and 2 big 3’s to stretch the D out. Lammers and Okogie put up monster stats. Heath had some great assists, a few steals, and just seemed to keep the entire team under control especially when we got a little too excited running and throwing up bad shots. I love watching basketball with this kind of team play.
