[QUOTE="orientalnc, post: 844078, member: 1199"] I was not at the uga game, but watching the game on TV and thinking about the atmosphere in the arena made me remember this column in the Washington Post a few days before. I am not sure if it's still the case, but for a long time all five of the Div 1 schools in Philadelphia played their home games at the Palestra on the Penn campus. I have a friend who went to Penn 1961-1965. During his four years there he missed five games at the Palestra. And they had three, sometimes four, doubleheaders each week during basketball season. And he was referring to games, not doubleheaders. When I worked at Bell Labs in NJ it was a treat to drive over to Philly and watch Penn basketball games. I also got to see Dr J in action. My Smithy girlfriend's brother played for Penn, so we had great seats. If you are a basketball fan, this is worth reading.
