I live in Raleigh. Most pack fans are tired of Doren. He’s essentially their Chan Gailey. I think he’ll have them ready but our boys will pull it out on senior night and finish the season undefeated at BD. I’m thinking 28-13.

Doeren has been a good coach at NCSU. Gailey was a good coach at GT. CCG’s problem was that he followed a minor legend at Tech who won 9 and 10 games his final years and Gailey only did that once. He also played that maddening NFL style of “getting to the postseason.”

Doeren followed Tom O’Brien who could not win in conference. Doeren has an overall .583 wp, best since **** Sheridan back in the 80’s, but is a couple games below .500 in conference games. They’ve played consistently well but cannot seem to break through to the top level.

But then, they’ve never been there so what’s the beef? Russell Wilson and Phillip Rivers were both great QBs, but that was under O’Brien and Amato, and they still couldn’t do it.

I have a hard time seeing NC State winning here. I'm not sure what their best win is, but it's between NIU, Cal, and Stanford. Thursday night, last home game of the season and senior day. Against P4 opponents, they scored 27.7 pts/game but allow 35.1 pts/game.
