A lot of good video clips in there. Great defense. Great pitching. Our first shutout shutout this year. First shutout was no earned runs. Second shutout was no unearned runs on absolutely gorgeous defense. That helps the pitching look better every time. Not shown on the video clips were some Waddell danseur* moves. I just knew that the defense would come around since it usually does. With the defense that played in the Pitt series, we would have lost the series already. The Duke pitcher Williams also had a career night throwing a 7 inning shutout and pitched at least as well as Archer. Williams with 9 SO, 1 BB, 0 HBP and 4 hits over 7.0 and 99 pitches. His defense screwed him over. Archer was career with 9 SO, 2 BB, 1 HBP and 6 hits over 8.0. Today, we get the weakest Duke pitcher on paper. May not turn out that way (it's baseball) but have to be hopeful. To recap, D1 staff predicts every week who will win key series. D1 had talked themselves into believing Duke would turn the corner this weekend with 6 of 9 picking us to win. Aaron Fitt!!, David Selfert and Patrick Ebert picked Duke:LOL:. It's baseball. The only weakness yesterday was the inability to advance RISP with 1 out in the 7th and 8th. We didn't have many baserunners all night and needed to get them around trading outs for bases. That and Fred Flintstone running the basepads (relation @FredJacket ?). * danseur /danˈsər/ noun 1. a male ballet dancer.
