Does Heisman carry that much weight?

With all the talk and coverage about the young QB from TA&M getting asked to leave the Manning camp, there is something I have been wondering. How much weight does the stiff-arm trophy really carry. I wonder how many other red-shirt college sophomores had access to getting courtside seats at an NBA playoff game, or any of the other prestigous events Mr. Manziel has had? Who has paid for all of that? Just some wondering...

Winning the heisman certainly does open up doors for a student athlete just because of people wanting to take advantage of his spotlight/fame.
That's a great question. I imagine Manziel has to pay for all that himself or it has to be considered "improper gifts" by NCAA.

Sure it does as an underclassman. Although winning it that young could spoil you to keep your performance at a high level. What else is their left for him to achieve at this point?
