I was actually referring to you traveling to Europe.
Oh, I agree. I fully expect it to be cancelled, although if, as some have said, it is a seasonal thing, it may be safe to travel by June. At any rate, if my tour is cancelled, unlike many tour companies and airlines, I will get a 100% refund, and I confirmed that today with the tour company. I will even get a 100% refund on the travel insurance policy I purchased through the tour company. Frankly, I almost hope they do cancel it, because there are other probably more important things I can use the money for.

Absolutely. This is the biggest media fugazi we have ever witnessed. I’m in my 30s so I’m not one of those old people conspiracist people; this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen but I’m actually loving to see all the media hysteria and the idiots that are panicking because of it. The people that are dying are very old who would die if they got a cold because they’re already unhealthy. This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen i our economy and the 1% is about to make so much money off the idiots that they can crawl into their hole and never be heard from again.
My opinion: a lot of us will get this virus. It’s a cold weather virus similar to a cold/flu but not cold/flu. Any of us here may even get it, likely, but it’s not gonna effect our life. The old people and diseased people who’s immune system is torn down are the ONLY people who are dying. Middle aged healthy people are contracting this virus and it’s not even effecting their day to day more than a cold.

I love the hysteria though. I’m making money off this and I hope you guys are as well. My portfolio in the past week is friggin NUTS in a good way.
I’m not some kind of write-off geriatric. I’m in my mid 50s, and consider myself to still be young-ish. But I have chronic respiratory problems, due to a severe bronchitis incident from over a decade ago. I also have a chronic sinus problem, as well. Compound that with scarring of my eye sockets due to an allergic reaction to antibiotics. Basically, my daily health maintenance requirements dictate that I cannot NOT touch my mouth, nose, or eyes, as the health care community recommends—eye, nose, and mouth care is a necessary daily regimen for me.

I am at risk because of this, and it is compounded because my wife works in health care, and routinely deals with low-income inner-city people with no health care, who are very likely to expose her to COIVID-19. She can most likely handle that exposure, but I could not.

We’ve spent a lot of time over the past week discussing how we would quarantine ourselves from each other, in order to protect me from the risks that her career will expose me to.

On behalf of those of us at risk from this, thanks for writing us off as not being worth your concern.

Hope your investments work out for you...

There is a ton of false information in your post. On top of being unnecessarily rude and inflammatory. And churlish.

Just more sad examples of how many stupid people we have amongst us. This is exactly how the disease keeps spreading exponentially.
We’re hearing a lot in the media & there are differing opinions on the severity albeit maybe not so many on the not as concerned end of the spectrum are on the major media channels. Their message does not sell.

The only tangible data point I have is those in & around me or in my circle. I had probably 500 Team Members missed work due to the flu. 4 were hospitalized, all in poorer health than your average bear prior to getting the flu. There were a handful of family member deaths, all elderly & very poor health before the flu hit. Not sure if all were flu related.

There’s not 1 person I know nor anyone that I know that knows someone that has/had coronavirus. I’m not sure I know a person that knows a person that knows a person that had it either or any of those people that know anyone that had it. Maybe we’re sitting on the proverbial powderkeg waiting for it to explode, but I know some things: nobody raided the stores & stole all the toilet paper for the flu, nobody used up all the hand sanitizer for the flu, nobody shutdown schools, etc & were cancelling sports events, concerts, etc over the flu. There was no ban on air travel due to the flu. We didn’t wipe down every hand rail, door knob and flat surface twice a day on a 100 acre campus for the flu. This may be political, a well founded over abundance of caution or just shear insanity. However, like it or not we’re turning this into a significant event, regardless of whether it ever becomes significant. That much is a fact.

Something I just realized:

Outside of travel bans, most of the precautions being taken are by organizations (NCAA, Schools, Sports leagues, businesses, etc.) and local government. The Federal level has pretty much stood by and not given much direction.

Contrast that to other countries. Keep in mind, we are a month into ID'ing our "patient zero" on American soil. America seems to be a boat at sea in the middle of storm right now.

Savannah Pure Politics Facebook post about 20 minutes ago.

Our source from Indianapolis with the NCAA has said that the Committee is considering canceling the NCAA basketball tournament or delay play until further actions dealing with the Coronavirus issue is solved. Also suspending all sport activities until further notice. Meeting on this early morning.
