They didn't end up hiring McCollum?! Really wanted to see what that guy could do at a higher level. Kennesaw State needs to jump on that one.

McCollum still out there shows that most ADs do not pay attention to basketball. He's going to be a good coach for an astute AD one day.

Idea: Stoudamire and GT, pay this man some serious money to be Assistant HC.

There’s an interesting article or two about him since going to Fisk—recovering from a stroke, or about former players coming back to coach at HBCU’s like https://www.tennessean.com/story/sp...bcu-ncaa-final-four-march-madness/7175077001/

You can see his record at Fisk at https://www.fiskathletics.com/sport/mens-basketball/2022-23/schedule.

Fisk has about 900 undergraduate students, and is an NAIA school (comparable to D2). He seems to have less than a 0.333 record overall (COVID years make it hard to do the math).

Me still thinks this unclogs the lane for our hire(s).

Mark my words, unless I'm wrong. If that's the case....

What’s the alternative? They St. Peter’s it, throw no money at the program, and lose their shot at building a real brand for the school, and fade back into obscurity? I’d rather throw money at the winning coach than take a huge loan out to upsize the arena. Ideally you do upgrade the facilities as well as pay the coach though. I’m sure part of the deal request from May’s end is that the school puts more money into facilities and “NIL”.

I think that team returns a lot of productivity. They will advance past the first round next year.
