Bowl Opponent Speculation

No one has mentioned this yet (or maybe they have and I haven’t paid attention), but with the playoff taking up extra bowl games there will likely be more 5-7 teams going bowling.
Someone said it in this thread or somewhere else, but the net change is zero. The 4 playoff teams that lose in the round 1 games on campus take up zero NY6 bowl game spots, while the 4 semifinal participants will take up 2 NY6 bowl game spots each. Cancels out

I'm rooting for Florida to make bowl eligibility and get matched up with them.

I want the State of Florida trifecta!

Florida beat LSU today. They only need one more win to get bowl eligble. Then maybe we can play them in a bowl games so we can sweep the whole state
They close out the season with FSU And Ole Miss before that, finishing 6&6.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they are our opponent.

UF looks like a tough out to me
UF is better than their record. One of their losses was to Tenn. in OT. They played uga tough but their starting QB got knocked out of the game; after that, their offense sputtered. An injured Lagway returned for the LSU game last Saturday. He couldn’t run, but they still won by two scores.

If we were to get healthy and catch fire, starting on Thursday, and end up 8-4, we would have 3 wins over top 10 opponents. Sure, we lost some we could have won while our QB was hurt. But shouldn't last season's precedent apply here? FSU was evaluated based on the team heading into the playoffs (without their hurt QB). We should be evaluated based on the team heading into the playoffs (with our stud QB ready to play). I say, we should keep our playoff hopes alive starting on Thursday night under the lights!

Selfishly hoping for Annapolis or Charlotte so that it's within a reasonable driving distance for me. Flying to and from Tampa right around Christmas was a real pain in the a** last year.
what about Birmingham? they got a shiny new stadium there and that would be closer to Atlanta than both of those. (unless of course you don't live in ATL)

That's the thing, I don't live in Atlanta lol. I live in Western PA, so Annapolis would be ~4 hrs and CLT would be ~6. That's why I said "selfishly", because I know what's ideal for me isn't ideal for most people on here.
