CPJ earned $100k for appearing in ACC's tier 1 bowl line-up. Additional incentive of another $75k for a Tech win. He also earned $225k for the team's academic achievements.

Assistants earned bonuses equal to 1 month's salary for the bowl game. CTR earned an additional $20K for finishing top 5 in the ACC in red-zone defense and takeaways.

He wins and ends up ranked in the top 25 and that should be another bonus IIRC

So he will make more money for academic achievements than playing in and winning a bowl game. This should answer a lot of questions you guys keep raising.
