That is Liberty's tired out reference to Trump, but one would think even he would have to admit the the only maniacs in this whole sequence of events were the Iranians, the media, and the left.

Obviously I’m biased but I anointed the President as “The Maniac” a full year before his election when he was neck & neck with Carson, Rubio and Cruz nipping at his heels. I would say I accurately predicted his personality & style of governance. It remains true to this day.

Out of the dictionary we have:
Maniacal: characterized by ungovernable excitement or frenzy; behavior extreme, violent or very determined; excessive or persistently enthusiastic; uncontrolled, extravagant, intemperate, etc; wildly irresponsible.

I’ll continue to judge him on the merits of his actions & success/failure of his policies, but make no mistake he is a maniac. You can decide if he’s a good or bad maniac or if you despise him, hate him, dislike him, tolerate him or love him.

I knew already why you call him that, but I also know that we seem to agree on much more than what we disagree on.

I mean, you correctly labeled him with that years ago. October 2017 “the greatest political conspiracy thread ever” thread started here and was shockingly proven true. GTSwarm is better than Fox and CNN for news analysis. :D

That’s because Fox sold their soul to the devil about 15 years ago. Before that they were a great news organization with a phenomenal staff. Fox bastardized themselves for the RINO & lefty slightly right of center Democrat market share and money. They made a mint but lost their soul. We’re just humoring ourselves daily by filling a void with straight up good old fashioned analysis that they abandoned. 85% or more of America doesn’t care about the facts any more.

I didn't watch Fox News 15 years ago, so I have nothing to compare them to now, other than CNN and MSNBC, and Fox is definitely WAY better than either of those two.

On the CBS World News tonight, they said the Defense Secretary contradicted Trumps assertion that attacks were imminent in our embassies.

This was a shocking assertion, given he was supposedly following their recommendation.

So of course they then show the interview and lo and behold, the Defense Secretary says he agrees with the President. What the hell is the news doing? He didn’t contradict Trump at all. How can anybody have a problem with the statement that the news media is the enemy of the people when they act like that all the time?

2003 was when Fox News soared in terms of popularity. They heavily used embeds with units in Iraq and their reporting was very accurate. They gained a huge following from that. I remember sitting in my Intel Center laughing at live feeds from teams, simultaneously watching the Fox News broadcast showing troops handing out candy to Iraqi kids while on patrol & in the same city at the same time CNN having a correspondent ducking behind a tank with a helmet on remarking how close the bombs were dropping and yapping about hostile fire.

I think the money, the rise of Obama’s version of socialism successfully packaged as mainstream or progressive, coupled with the Republican Party’s abandonment of its core values led to an eventual decline in the quality of Fox News programming. Instead of sticking to a winning formula of factual, straightforward news Fox decided to outdo CNN By using CNN type tactics of making news to promote its political positions in order to “win the middle”. I guess they figured regular old Conservatives like me would watch regardless.

Fox may still be better. I really wouldn’t know because it has been a very long time since I watched them with any type of regularity. I read/hear stuff in the news now if interested try to find factual sources, which is not easy at all any more. If you’re watching CNN, MSNBC, etc for anything unbiased or accurate, well good luck. They weren’t even unbiased when they were founded, they were just first to the fight in 24 hr news which is why they got the viewership.

I don’t know if the transition from News Corp to 21st Century was what ultimately did them in. I do know that loyal conservative viewers that started watching them in the late 90’s have become dismayed at the deterioration of the product but they’ve done well because there’s far more RINOs to replace the conservative viewers.

"U.S. Special Operations forces on the ground in Iraq were following a convoy carrying Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani when it was struck by an American drone last week, killing Soleimani and nine others, Fox News has learned.
The soldiers following Soleimani's convoy as it left Baghdad International Airport were about a half-mile behind when it was hit by a missile fired from a Reaper drone. They were on the scene within a minute or two and performed a so-called "bomb damage assessment," taking pictures of the scene and confirming that the drone had picked out the right car -- and that Soleimani was no more."

I truly do not believe that millions in Iran hate us. Every Iranian I have ever met has been polite, educated, and quite impressive...and none have expressed any hatred for America even when they have disagreed with US policy. Inside Iran, I believe many, many people are coerced into attending such rallies for propaganda purposes...don't fall for the Fake News....

He did SORT OF contradict the president earlier, but yes, that CBS story tonight was totally false in intent.

I think that, at least in part, your disappointment with Fox today is misdirected. First of all, the original founders of the network went libertarian, sometimes even left, in their views, and that got reflected in the network shows. Then they were bought out, making it even worse. What ticks me off more than anything today is the hiring of Donna Brazile, and others like her. Shep Smith (thank God he quit) was an avowed Trump hater. I admittedly and happily watch mostly only the opinion shows there, and they remain very conservative, although I do disagree with Tucker somewhat at times. But even on those opinion shows, you see at least snippets of news, which coupled with what I see when I on occasion watch the actual Fox News shows, has information that you certainly don't see on any other so-called news networks, including the big 3 (CBS, NBC, ABC).
