It's behind a paywall but he picks Tech to upset FSU. He also says he could see us winning 9 games.

That's it...I am mortgaging my house, emptying the nest egg, selling my portfolio which I need to do anyway, and betting the entire wad on FSU to win and cover.

Meh. The AJC is striving for 500,000 digital subscribers by 2026 and has a new strategy ”to “super-serve” specific audiences in Atlanta” to get there. The NY Times playbook.

Every media company has an agenda.

I've always liked Mark Bradley. I've read his stuff for a while now. If GT fans would let go of the sensitivity of anything negative towards GT, you'll see that Bradley actually revels in tweaking UGA when he has the chance. UGA fans hate Bradley probably more than GT fans do not like Bradley.

There was one season Bradley predicted GT was going to have a losing season, only for us to win the Coastal. CPJ called him out, and he ended up having a "mea culpa" article about how he got GT all wrong that season.

My dislike of him stems back to his being openly antagonistic towards Bobby Cremins and writing in depth opinion pieces on games he didn't watch. This is not hearsay. I watched him do it while I was a member of The Technique sports staff. I remember sitting at the press desk looking over and seeing him, this was back in the 88-89 season, with a portable TV watching a Kentucky game. He paid no attention to our game. He came into the press room after the game, grabbed the stat sheets and quote summaries and walked out. The next day he wrote a piece about the game as if he paid any attention to it. His manner with Bobby was always, at least in the season I saw, mean spirited. It wasn't the actual questions as much as the tone. He wasn't that way with our football staff, and maybe that's because Ralph Friedgen and George O'Leary would have probably stuffed him in a dumpster if he had treated Bobby Ross disrespectfully. It was just Bobby Cremins and I never understood that nor can I ever respect him. Maybe it didn't matter to Bobby but I always felt that if you couldn't get along with Bobby Cremins then that's a YOU problem.

I actually like his writing style. He's a good writer. And I know he's supposed to write about his opinions. So I don't have any issue that that's what he is doing. I do have issues with a person who acts as if they have an informed opinion when he does not.

Why do I sense a set up for
1. Tech was good fails to be as good as.....
2. UGA still ledgendary , even though ..

IF I THOUGHT HE WOULD WRITE NICE THINGS I WOULD INVEST THE .,, .
Does he know Petty is a Tech man?

It's only a buck for 12 weeks!
I am to lazy to fill out the form

Wish I was alive to read the heydey of Furman Bisher and Lewis Grizzard. I'd take a homer who's good writer like Grizzard any day over Bradley. The "Frankly, I don't want to talk about it" column is one of my favorites - don't mind a sore loser, it's clean old-fashioned hate for a reason.

I always feel like you're doing pretty good when both sides don't like you.

Oooh! I had to make a quick edit of my post to include Bisher. Thanks!

Probably one of the more enjoyable aspects of Tech football in the 1980s was winning and … waiting until Sunday to read the print edition of the AJC and Furman’s take. Fraternity brothers would fight over the Sports section of the paper.

It's interesting to read the opinions of Tech fans on various writers. Bisher gets lots of accolades now and deservedly so, but when I was at Tech ('58 - '62), Jesse Outlar of the Constitution was much preferred by us over the Journal's Furman Bisher.

I never liked Outlar much, but he was preferable to most all the guys since about 2000 or so.

Ed Danforth was probably the all time best AJC (AM and PM papers) writer for GT positive bias, he was a real GT homer writing in the first half of the fifties during our 33 game unbeaten streak. I know, most on here don't know the fifties even existed other than they fell between the forties and sixties.:)
