Stayed at the Stellaris on Palm Beach for 5 nights over Thanksgiving 2014. Great location. Casino is fine, nothing special. Stellaris is about 1 mile from the main restaurant strip. Looks like Barcelo is closer though.

The key to the vacation was flying back Friday after Thanksgiving so I could be in Athens to see The Kick & The Pick. Wife joked that CPJ was in Aruba with us as I listened to one of his press conferences from a beach chair.

Thanks Cuse. I’m leaning towards Stellaris but the location of the Barcelo is what interested me. I know it’s a 15-20 min walk to the bars/restaurants or a 5 min cab ride which is fine. I’m just more or less interested in how pricey the food options at the Marriott are and do I need to pay every damn time I get a drink at the swim up bar or do they bill my room? Lol

They'll bill your room... if I remember correctly  Also just remembered there is a reservation system at the Stellaris for the chairs on the beach with the palm leaf umbrellas, which includes some free spots. It was important for my wife to know this, and I was along for the ride. Not sure how important that is to you. Pool area is normal first come, first serve.

Also, one benefit is since the Stellaris is at the north end of the beach, there's less commotion and thru traffic.

If you're ok with walking or even enjoy walking, it is a nice walk from the Stellaris to the restaurants. You can walk the beach the whole way or also weave between the other resorts which was kind of cool. Pretty scenic and nice at a time of day when it's not blistering hot. But you are correct that it's 15-20 min each way.

Go to Wacky Wahoo's at least one night for dinner. Just off the beaten path of the main restaurants in an area where you might barely feel uncomfortable walking when dark, but it's really safe. You'll probably need reservations in advance of your trip to get a table.

Thanks again Cuse. I appreciate the input. I actually booked today for the Marriott.
We did eat at Wacky Wahoos this past September. Loved it. Also did Flying Fishbones as well. Now the 8 month wait begins. Lol

Went there for my honeymoon. Love that place. Stayed at the Divi so everything was all inclusive including 5 restaurants. I'm cheap and easy to please so not sure what your standards are :)

If you go 5 star resort and do a little research to make sure the booze are top shelf then that's the ticket. Most 5 stars serve premium booze, you may have to request it but it's all good. Steaks, shrimp, lobster, and booze all week. I never leave the resort.

Damnit it's time for Cabo.

@RyanS12 enjoy your trip bro, I'm jealous
