Mack has always been almost as soft of a coach as Collins. Even his TX NC team played soft, they just out athleted everybody and had a great QB.

I don’t know if “soft” is exactly the word for Brown’s Texas teams but UT people weren’t exactly enamored with him. He won it all once at least but lots of feeling like he could’ve done more with the talent he had.

Gailey was a horrible OC as HC of cowboys. Gailey's whole hold on coaching FB was his ability to evaluate talent. From Jerry Jones, "CGC was the best talent evaluator in the game." It's the reason he was made OC at KC and HC at Buffalo, they were doing a rebuild. Looks like he did a bang up job at KC. Guess school is still out on Buffalo.

The Cowboys were a mess when Gailey took over. He restored them to being a decent but aging team. Jones made some really stupid trades post Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer lost total control of the team. 6-10 the year before he came and 5-11 the 3 years after. His two years were 10-6 and 8-8.
