The story was in Times today. But, I will beg the mercy of the court.
I'd give you mercy, but I don't think my vote counts.Mercy is here somewhere. I know it is.
I'd give you mercy, but I don't think my vote counts.
That conclusion is not just obviously false, it is a mockery of the entire situation. Guys like Zion Williamson ARE the school. THEY are the ones impacted, not professors or students or lawn maintenance or cafeteria workers at the school. Professors aren't losing their jobs or made ineligible to teach. Its folks like Zion Williamson who would be made ineligible - by his own decisions. When we talk about a school like Duke being the victim or Duke being damaged, it is not the Economics 301 class...its the DUKE BASKETBALL TEAM being harmed. Its Zion Williamson being harmed. The very notion these people are victims is a farce.
Professors have definitely lost their jobs for reporting violations though
I would like to see some evidence of this.A professor at Auburn told me when the football team has a good season they all get raises.
I get a raise every year regardless of how any football team does. Are you saying they don't get raises at Auburn when the football team stinks?A professor at Auburn told me when the football team has a good season they all get raises.
Names? Details? Tenure makes it next to impossible to terminate a professor without cause. Easier to let a junior prof go, but 3-year review for tenure track still means you have to present the rationale / cause for the termination to the university academic counsel. That's standard practice across all accredited universities
The professor who told me stated that they ALL get raises. I am pretty sure some get raises even if the team has a bad year.I get a raise every year regardless of how any football team does. Are you saying they don't get raises at Auburn when the football team stinks?
What are you; a socialist?I get a raise every year regardless of how any football team does. Are you saying they don't get raises at Auburn when the football team stinks?

The professor who told me that was in the math department for many years; was a part time/retired professor and now is retired fully and cannot provide any proof. Even if he was still there; do youI taught at Auburn for 30+ years and never saw any correlation between raises (which occurred seldom) and football success. I think your friend was pulling your leg. Raises are determined by the legislature, most of whom are UA grads, so when AU has a ggod year, they are mad and should deny raises.

Huh? Explain please. What are you; a socialist?
It's like you went to school that gives out participation trophies. Where I work; you eat what you kill.Huh? Explain please.
Cost of living increase is automatic for good performance (not subpar) plus additional merit increase added on for excellent performance, plus faster track to promotion. Just like most major corporations. Do you work in the woods? It's like you went to school that gives out participation trophies. Where I work; you eat what you kill.
