My point is that they damned well knew exactly what he had done when they traded 5 Taliban for him and then held a ceremony for him in the Rose Garden of the White House!! They didn't find out later...they KNEW! How despicable can you get?

Add to that the fact that Bergdahl pled guilty and *still* got NO prison time, in spite of the fact that he wanted to renounce his citizenship and his antics resulted in the deaths of American servicemen.

If Bergdahl got that, this dude should get no worse....

The more you read, the more you learn. I just read a summary article about the trial. None of his platoon members asserted he shot schoolgirls, or anybody at all that I could tell. 1 guy said their were rumors he had shot once at a 12 year old. Some of the platoon members refused to testify at his trial. One of them changed his story on the stand.

I was going to post the facts yesterday but figured it was a waste of time. The America is bad crowd is not going to stop hating us.

Now Gallagher may not be a model citizen, but we foist these guys into extraordinarily dangerous situations and in his case for 8 years. We expect them to be choir boys on the battlefield. That being said, if there is unlawful conduct on the battlefield the commanders have an obligation to investigate and hold those accountable.

This one smells like we’ve got deep divisions in the ranks. A decade or three of bad military leadership and this is what you get.

When politics infiltrates military decision making, the result is awfully ugly....

Well we’ll have to disagree on this one. Military action is a tool of the President who is inherently a political man.

Now tinkering with how the military works is a military matter. The strategy to be employed is a political decision, the military owes the President the options and the pros/cons.

You must either have a vivid imagination, mushrooms, or believe anything you read in NY Slimes or Washington Compost. Do you have any credible source for such an allegation?

Did you read the articles that just came out, releasing the video interviews of those that testified against him?
    https://www.military.com/daily-news...call-edward-gallagher-evil-leaked-videos.html

They guy who changed his story did so after being granted immunity. It was an M. Night Shyamalan twist at the trial.

Yes as soon as he got immunity from prosecution and wouldn’t spend his life in jail he fessed up. Is that rationale difficult to understand?

Some folks yell and scream about justice, call cops and our troops murderers without setting one foot on a battlefield or sitting in a patrol car. The funny thing about it is that as they yell for justice they rush to make blanket statements, bias opinions and uninformed judgements.

Without going back and reading this story again, I think it was 22 members of which only 6-7 testified. One man even testified that he killed the ISIS member himself and people on here yell about justice. News flash, when someone, who wasn’t charged, admits to the crime it should result in a acquittal for the one who was, that is justice.

As for being a cop, yes you are correct he/they most likely will continue serving in some manner, unlike millions of fly by night commentators who have no clue what they are talking about.

Just like in life, there are 50 good men and women serving for every bad one. fortunately for most, people will never understand the agony of knowing what it feels like to turn in someone who you know would risk their life to save you. The sense of betrayal that goes with doing what you know is right AS it hurts the one who has helped you, is only felt by those men and women who are faced with life and death jobs. Unfortunately in this world normal people don’t volunteer to take jobs in which they could die for the sake of people they will never know, those who do, somehow manage- for the most part, to remain sane after years of seeing dead babies, bodies blown apart, mutilated corpses, bodies crushed literally like grapes in car accidents, “loved ones” beaten to near death by the ones who love them. All the inhumane and unworldly BS that people do to each other everyday is experienced and seen by our troop, cops and firefighters. Try it for 15, 20 or 30 years see if you change.

Our service people have the highest suicide rate in the country. They are in the top 5 in divorce rates, alcoholism, mental health issues and depression ? Because they see Sh*t others just talk about.
People ***** and moan about having to sit in traffic an extra hour as they drive to work, because of the accident and not once do they think about the people that have to literally wash the blood off the street or peel the bodies out of the cars.

Few people have ever been threatened with death by the gunman who blew his wife’s head off, AS THEY TRY TO SAVE THE WIFE. How many telephone poles have some of you hid behind as you place yourself between a lunatic and the neighbors whose houses he is randomly shooting into ?

I am so sick of stupid people. It always seems to be the freedom loving, justice demanding, it’s the government that’s bad idiots who have never spent 1 second serving this country or the citizens in it who lecture us all on the ethics and morality of the ones who actually do die so idiots can moan and complain about those who serve them.

The difference between those idiots and the people they complain about is that the people they hate dont have to give a damn about those they help, but they do so freely and voluntarily. They go when called and they do so to help complete strangers DESPITE the likelihood that that stranger may be entirely ungrateful. Whereas the idiots sit on the sofa and ***** about things they will never begin to experience, much yet know about.

A hero is someone who takes extraordinary risk to ones self for the sake of others, hero’s are men and women who volunteer to serve others who are using their time in blind unappreciative bubbles of righteousness, totally unaware of the guts it takes to put on any u inform in the service of strangers
