I had a feeling that the injury to Gotsis was going to be serious. I hate it, for us and for him. Our defense is just not the same without him getting after it every play.

Next man up is the normal saying.
In this case it will take two to replace gotsis. Guess we will send one and everyone else has to step up a notch.

Really sucks for him and us.

It is so unfortunate, all of it. Look, this is war. You have to go to war with the unit you have, not the one you wish you had. End of story. I feel sorry for our injured. I really do, BUT, I fully support the guys who are left and I expect them to raise their collective games.

At this point, the effect it has on the team is of little importance. We are 3-6 and not going anywhere. I hope we make a bowl game, but that's not likely. The positive is that this will allow a guy like Henderson to get some valuable reps heading into next year.

What I hate is that Gotsis was really blossoming and beginning to make himself some money. I'm hoping he just needs to get it scoped and can participate in the combine. This is 2 years in a row our best pro prospect has had a knee injury at the end of the year. I'm hoping he still gets a shot with someone like Smelter did. I think he will be a really good pro. Great motor and has gotten better every year. Give him some great coaching along with time to focus solely on football and I think he could have a long career at SDE in a 4-3 or outside in a 3-4.

Gotsis is my favorite player this year. I hope he can get ready for the combine too. He will have a great future in the NFL if he can stay healthy for a few years. But a lot of that is luck. He deserves some good luck.

This is just awful. For him of course, but for the team and for us.

I never want this to happen to anyone, but it just feels worse when it's a guy as much of a good person as he is. :(

Gotsis is one of my all time favorite GT players, not just this year. I just like the guys who work hard enough and develop to show year over year improvement. Each and every year he got noticeably better and always seemed to play with maximum effort..

This season has been full of suck! The FSU game gave me a glimmer of hope but seeing Adam get hurt so soon in the Virginia game brought me back to reality. No matter how bad we are this season I'll appreciate the one we had last year! I hope Adam can get better and have a productive career in the NFL. I have no hope for ugag without him sadly.

Adam should not risk his pro career by playing one more snap for GT. He has done plenty for us. I hope he makes a gazillion dollars in the NFL. I also hope that we absorb all the bad luck injury mojo this year that we would have had for the next 5. I hope this year serves as a sacrificial anode for injuries going forward.

And he always represented himself and the Institute with the highest degree of class and character.

Remember how loose and sloppy his play (technique) was when he got here? The amount of growth he has shown over the years is just astounding. He has become a totally different player.
Totally agree. Honestly, Pelton seems like one of the best all-around coaches on our staff (which is why I hold out hope for Kallon). Plus Adam obviously put in the effort. He's an awesome player and he represents us well.

Outside of leaving everything on the field, one of things I will remember most about Gotsis (if in fact he played his last game) is how after he was hurt with that knee injury, he remained on the sidelines standing and coaching up the guys. Immediately after his injury, he was still helping out the team any way he could instead of sulking and going back to the locker room to tend to his injury. That will always sum up what kind of person and player he was for GT.
