Quite a difference in coaches appearances yesterday. FSU coach was actively involved in the game with radio in hand communicating and coaching during the game while our coach is shown just standing there with a stupid looking grin on his face. Not trying to be too critical but that is just how it appears to me.

Do one of you statistic gurus know what our composit pitching ERA is for the year and how it compares in ACC?

Don't know if link will work, but here's what it says about ERA:
1 - UNC 4.19
2 - Clemson 4.47
3 - Duke 4.68
4 - FSU 4.73
5 - Wake 5.19
6 - Va Tech 5.20
7 - UVA 5.57
8 - Miami 5.74
9 - ND 5.89
10 - Pitt 6.02
11 - NC State 6.19
12 - Louisville 6.47
13 - Ga Tech 6.50
14 - BC 6.63

You'll hear people talk about scoring being UP across college baseball... but the 'situation' is what it is.

Prior to yesterday our total ERA was 6.39, which is 12th in the ACC. ACC average is 5.50, and the median is 5.66

None of our peripherals are great, but the primary driver to that high ERA is the amount of homeruns we surrender. We've allowed 81 so far (plus 3 or 4 yesterday), where league average is 69 and league median is 70.

We are over 7.00 ERA in ACC only games......still third from last in the league (Louisville is slightly worse than us in ACC only)...but yeah, we give up lots of HRs. Only good news there is we only allowed 10 unearned runs all year (if I am reading the table correctly)...so you can't blame our defense for our poor pitching.

It's ugly so far... not making a good argument for NCAA Tournament. :(

There are not many times you can fault a team for not showing up, but today we didn't show up in the slightest. We wanted no part of playing today and it showed on the field. Hope they are proud of that effort....

When Homer Rice was hired the entire athletic program was in shambles. The first programs he built up were spring sports--baseball and golf. He understood that the entire athletic program needed to be of high quality to keep the fans engaged and the media writing about us. I remember having good baseball and golf teams before basketball and football were elevated to where they were in 1990.

I could write pages about the mistakes made by this athletic board since Homer retired. But they sure don't seem to care how far this baseball program has declined, even though numerous fans have clamored for improvement. How long have people referred to Hall as CFDH? Something is going on with his situation that we don't know, but from the outside (which always seems to be the case with GTAA anymore) the optics are not good.
