Warren Sharp projects 7.7 wins for the Falcons (so, pretty typical “just missing the playoffs” season for ATL). You may have been hearing that they have an easy schedule, but it looks just below average—which makes sense, when the Super Bowl champs are automatically on your schedule twice.

One issue is that we face a lot of good pass defenses, and we pass a lot better than we run. Another is that our defense still isn’t good.

Wow, Julio Jones traded to the Titans. Curious how Falcons fans feel about that.

And how they think it impacts the 2021 season.

It never helps the most talented player on your team. Not sure if there is a winner and loser in the trade, think with Julio requesting the trade, the Falcons did what they could. Titans should be an offensive juggernaut next year if they don't miss a step after losing their OC.

Not awful compensation if the Titans took on all his money.

The Titans took on his entire salary, but there’s still two years of cap hits for Atlanta. It’s not as bad as it would have been.
Atlanta is clearly the loser in this trade, but they were backed into a corner.

Probably not popular with most of the Falcons brethren who invest their time and/or money…not only would I have dealt him at the time of the coaching change and new G.M.-Matt Ryan would have been packaged up. Draft day, would have brought a QB in the first round.

The NFL doesn’t seem to be set up for trades like the NBA is, which seems like a lost opportunity for the NFL and maybe the players too. Trades in the NBA draw a lot of fan attention, and give players like Anthony Davis a chance to play for a championship (what? The Lakers are out? Un-possible!)
Even if someone traded multiple players for equivalent salary, I think a lot of the cap hit stays with the original teams. Otherwise, I think you’d see a linebacker and a guard and two draft picks for a QB, and that doesn’t happen.

Julio's motivation and health will determine who wins the trade. Seems like a lot has come out in the last day or so about him being much more of a diva about practicing than the Falcons disclosed in the past. IMO, it isn't good for team chemistry to allow a player, even your best player, to create his own set of practice rules.
