I do worry that the performance against UNC (especially their defense) was something of a mirage. After the game a number of their players remarked that they did not prepare for Sims because the staff did not expect him to play. A number of UNC commentators have also said that in 3 years Bates offense hasn't stopped a running QB yet.

We were all over UNCs offense and our defense played a great game. UNC isn’t as good as we thought, and has clear flaws we took advantage of, but I think the difference is that we prepared well for UNC and then prepared poorly for Pitt. I give us credit for a really good UNC game, but Pitt was as bad as UNC was good

Sure looks like Pitt and NCSU are the top teams so far. Wake is having a great season but they just don't seem to have a dominant team. Just solid play and good coaching so far. Key injuries can change things in a hurry for any of them. Clemson QB is not getting it done and showing little signs of improvement.

Pitt has a minuscule chance of making the CFP. Must run the table and dominate in the ACC Championship table. That is possible but unlikely. Wake could go undefeated and win the ACC Championship and the committee would not invite them because they are not and never have been a member of the club. Yet they slobber all over an Oklahoma team that is perennially overrated and has trouble beating Tulane.

Go Jackets!

CBSSports has its mid-season All-American Teams out. ACC had 5 players on the list

QB - Pickett - Pitt
OL - Ekwonu - NCST
OL - Johnson - BC
DL - Johnson - FSU
K - Sciba - Wake

It should also be noted that one of the RB's - Walker, MI ST, transferred from Wake to MICH St in the offseason.

Anybody notice what a weird schedule VT has this year. They have a home game against Syracuse today. Through their first 7 games they have had just 1 road game - @WV, everything else has been in Blacksburg, including their first 3 ACC Games. It does mean I could see them dropping pretty hard in the last 5 games as they play 4 of their last 5 on the road starting with GT next weekend.

If you want to demonstrate to your wife that football does not control your Saturday afternoons, this would be a great day for that. Until Pitt hosts Clemson at 3:30 there is really not much of interest on TV.
Wake at Army is highly entertaining! 56-42 Wake with lots of time left in the 4th.

Seems not - Army just scored again - 56 - 49 now with 8:20 to go!
This is crazy! There are 7 40+ yard TD plays in the game!
