  1. Anthony Williams dismissed

It is a big loss, we can't replace him with another player that is a 5th yr. senior and has been in our Strength & Conditioning program all that time. We haven't had a lot of success with RSs replacing graduated players, usually 4th yr. backups have been our best bet. Wasn't AW listed as a...
  2. Athletes Read on A 5th Grade Level

These players are no different than the millions of HS grads that go to JUCOs and community colleges that didn't take HS seriously and just don't know what they want to do with their life. The problem that CFB have is that everything they do is captured by the Media. Not too long ago before...
  3. Athletes Read on A 5th Grade Level

I meant no GT fan wants us operating at the NCAA minimums. That won't help GT because they won't survive.
  4. Athletes Read on A 5th Grade Level

No one advocates operating at the NCAA minimums. Also, once many recruits are identified as BCS level Recruits, they only care about scoring enough to get their scholly, from their viewpoint, their is no change in their Fin. aid package because once they get the scholly, they get the same...
  5. Athletes Read on A 5th Grade Level

No, this is a very flawed argument. If an illiterate Recruit is being wooed by a BCS college, then the only other player that will take that Recruit's slot is another player that has the SKILLSET the coach is looking for first and foremost, and then IF that "replacement" Recruit wants to...
  6. Athletes Read on A 5th Grade Level

Did you see the AJC this morning? One of our recruits from last year was finally able to enroll at GT after finally passing the GA HS graduation test. Rumor is, is that our Recruit failed one portion. Another rumor is that HS Srs. are allowed to take the test up to 6 times in order to pass...
  7. Warning!!! Non football thread (but pertinent to the board)

None of the GT alums I worked for let folks down easy, they were much more demanding than Bosses I had that graduated from other schools.
  8. Warning!!! Non football thread (but pertinent to the board)

re: You can attract more bees (or Yellow Jackets?) with honey than vinegar. ------------------------------------------------ I thought Yellow Jackets were attracted to garbage and unattended soda cans?
  9. Warning!!! Non football thread (but pertinent to the board)

From reading your comments above it seems to me that you want to create an environment where a person can be as "wrong as the day is long", yet you want them to be let down easy when others prove that person wrong. I hate to say it, but Ma Tech just didn't train us that way.
  10. And in other news.....water is wet

I don't get it? That was good press for UGA. It said they were among the LEAST illiterate.
  11. Moving on to the Selection Committee...

Nope, not the case, the truth is is that more of the top teams from the Pac-12 have had tougher SoS's than a lot of the SEC teams in recent years. If the SEC wanted to schedule 4 patsies then the ACC could trump them by going to a 9 or 10 game conference schedule, and that bye that you talked...
  12. Moving on to the Selection Committee...

If you don't want to be worried about that happening 5-8 years down the road then never schedule FCS teams like ND, USC, UCLA, Stanford and a few other programs do. Every suggestion you have made allows shady ADs and shady HCs to load up the schedule with cupcakes, with ticket prices always...
  13. Moving on to the Selection Committee...

That's what creates that extra incentive for teams to schedule-up and then hope it pays off with a bye if they have the proper W-L record, rather than loading up on cupcakes and then trying to back-door their way into the playoffs. Without the bye, the regular season loses value because shady...
  14. Moving on to the Selection Committee...

I think that most of you guys have got it wrong. The perfect number is 6 Teams for the CFB-Playoffs. The Top-2 seeds get those seeds based on SoS or W-L record vs. the toughest schedule kinda like a CFB version of what basketball uses to give out #1 seeds for the NCAA tourney, it would be...
  15. Auburn's Option v. Tech's Option

Auburn really sucked at QB last year, this is Auburn's first year with the JUCO/criminal Marshall. These aren't the same guys, Lawson was a 5* recruit and a GT legacy with the academics for GT, and would have fit our 4-3 PERFECTLY. I'm willing to bet his DAD, hinted to him, go to a college...
  16. Auburn's Option v. Tech's Option

Tre' Mason is a lot closer to Dwyer in talent level than our guys are. Why not take Sims and Laksey and put them in that Auburn offense in lieu of Mason with everything else being the exact same. Now imagine the results.................
  17. ACC!!!!!

Mojo tends to follow the better recruits around, hence we'll probably get it back when we get better players.
  18. ACC!!!!!

I have to wonder does the F$U Athl. Depth give a MNC ring to the Leon County District Attorney? He might be just as responsible for all of this as Jimbo Fisher is.
  19. ACC!!!!!

I'm wondering can Malzahn earn that fat contract that he signed. Every RB in the future won't be as good as Mason and every QB won't be as fast as Marshall. After seeing this game it reminded me of the UGA game they started out hot and then cooled off a lot, they were up 21-3 and ended up...
  20. ACC!!!!!

FSU was better. The SEC went 7-3 in bowl games. The 3 losers: UGA Bama Auburn
