  1. Pastner's new offensive Xs/Os

A too-long analysis of some nitty gritty Xs/Os for our offense this year (so far)... for the coaches and X/O nerds to chime in on with additional details or for the causal fans who might be interested... Last year was great and beautiful execution of 5-out Princeton continuity, but too vanilla...
  2. OOC schedule

Having watched/evaluated the team and roster thus far, and knowing what the ACC schedule is for Jan/Feb/March of 2022, if you could (re)set the Dec OOC schedule right now, would you still add/include LSU and USC? You know uga and BIG/ACC challenge opponent will be there. You expect based on...

  4. 2021-22 Offseason discussion

this is a key component of why believe we need a crazy easy OOC schedule in nov/dec. if i'm the coach building the schedule, i take uga and the ACC/BIG opponent as the only 2 P6 opponents. everything else is LM or MM. and any MM would be a (projected) weak MM. pile up the wins. give yourself (as...
  5. Biancardi interview

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/packer-and-durham/id1476093125?i=1000517415235 Good interview. Starts at the 25 min mark. He shares some detailed thoughts on the emerging impact of transfer portal. He suggests/thinks every P5 needs to hire a "roster mgt" coach for year-round communicating...
  6. article: Emmert NCAA TV deal

While experts are starting to view this deal as one-sided for CBS and Turner in real-time, that’s only going to become incrementally more glaring as the years go on. (ACC commissioner John Swofford’s final ACC contract, which runs through 2036, is already being viewed as a similar financial...
  7. Ush TV

When I wake up tomorrow, I want Ush TV coverage of the post-game celebration (plus the after-party) already posted to social media waiting for me. When Ush boards the plane to Indy, I want Ush TV. When the brackets are announced, I want Ush TV live streamed. For the next 3 weekends, the...
  8. ESPN article on NCAA bball seniors with option for extra year (GT quote and mentions)

I imagine many dont want to discuss this topic now, because the focus is on the current season and the NCAAT run, and there has already been plenty of board speculation and guessing about what our seniors will do next year.......... but this was published today on ESPN+. Includes a Pastner...

  11. The Future

  12. GT Film Study (half-court offense, first 3 ACC games)

I did a film study/breakdown of every GT half-court possession available on the ACCDN "condensed games"(only reviewed the first 3 ACC games, no OOC games). The ACCDN condensed games only show made FGs, so every missed FG and turnover is missing, which limits the analysis, obviously. They edit...
  13. hoop vision 5-out revolution

With ~2 weeks off, starved for game action, some might enjoy this very brief (13 minutes) x/o video on 5-out offenses. Some elements (point series, split action, zoom, DHO, backdoors, etc) can be found in Pastner's "base" offense (Princeton). Sperber calls this the "5-out Revolution". Pastner...

  15. UK

Stating the obvious here... it could be very helpful for GT on Selection Sunday if this trend continues. (Need to handle our own business first, obviously.)
  16. nice Pastner interview on Packer and Durham

A few good nuggets mixed in here (along with some typical interview coach-speak). The face shield discussion at the beginning is also a highlight.
  17. 3pt volume and efficiency over last decade

Found this graphic interesting (and painful). Shows the last decade of 3pt volume and efficiency for top 6 hoop conferences. Best GT year was, not surprisingly, Adam Smith's lone season, when the team shot 35.7% on the season. Only one other season in which we finished above 33% - at 33.1%...
