Not trying to say anything discouraging about Blalock, but in this decision, imo, feels like he might have some more competition for snaps next season and he’s coming off a career year.
I’ve had Leo Blackburn’s return in my mind for a while. I think the best WR on our roster didn’t play a snap...
I think there’s something to be said about the playcalling as well, not that it’s an issue, but this season we had too many throws of 15+ yards dropped when we could have just taken an easier 2-3 yard completion and given that skill player some chance for YAC.
When Buster settles into his role...
At what point does consistent or frequent luck mean that there are intangibles you aren’t factoring in behind the scenes?
If sportsbooks kept losing money, they’d adjust their expectations, not call the winners lucky.
I believe some other posters have mentioned some interviews they’ve heard about behind the scenes. I specifically recall someone mentioning the former Mississippi State coach, who was the DC before Coach Leach passed.
I was extremely excited by the sheer amount of 4th years with another year (or two) of eligibility for us (due to Covid).
The moment I saw Kenan and Kyle leave I remembered how hard it is to get into GT grad school. And how often we find ways to shoot ourselves in the foot.
-Doesn’t call out anyone specifically
-Has been on almost every player press conference
-6th year with a degree already at his 3rd school
-Echos what we all see and what all the coaches know
I guess some of your perspectives are okay, but remember, if this guy was putting his foot in his mouth...
Why calm him down? This is an attitude the new Athletic Director wants to erase from our fanbase. I’d rather have season ticket holders threatening it to keep some energy underneath the hill. This should be a motivator for anyone success-driven. If threatening this causes our program to crumble...
Rivals needs to learn how to adjust evaluation based on track-records then. My brain went to Zeek Biggers when I thought of 2-stars who shoulda been higher than 2-stars.
If this was homecoming and a 7:00 kickoff, I’d be way more excited. Most likely it’s marketing wanting us to not embarrass ourselves in a new cool uniform. (you would not believe how much social media content right now is being dismissed because of fears of the football team losing and content...
Are you referring to Rutherford? He was a high 3* and we were fighting off Clemson towards the end, iirc. Definitely someone who was identified as a talented slot receiver at the next level but didn’t have the size to be higher rated. Regardless, this still stands as a testament to our talent...
On the bright side, TFG hired Brent Key. Tony Elliott probably gets his own OL coach and maybe it takes years longer for Brent to come home. I was one of those who liked Elliott when we were moving on from CPJ- happy to have been wrong in the long run.
So the howitzer smelled like roses and had...
I’m more excited for what it means for potential OL transfers or higher end recruits (4, 5* guys). If our OL was 10% more dominant in the run game, we beat Louisville. Our playcalling looked scared against Ole Miss, what if we had an OL that could have taken it to their DL? Haynes (both 😉) has...
And they were both Georgia High School Athletes Clemson somehow got their grubby hands on. Now imagine if Tech was recruiting for a pro-style offense, and the quality of potential generational QBs that our state just seems to produce. Philo or Knowles up next?
As a younger GT Fan, curious as to what people think Haynes might look like end of season. I mean, obviously anything can happen, but he’s almost half way to top 5 TD in a season with 10 games left to play. The game has definitely evolved and GT went the opposite direction, so there’s easily...
