  1. D1-FCS South Carolina State rounds out our 2023 schedule.

Agreed. Actually, I miss seeing us play January football.
  2. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

Rankings of universities is always a tricky thing. Comparing an institute of technology with a full-range university is especially tricky. Tech ranks 4th behind MIT, Stanford, and Berkeley for engineering universities, tied with Cal Tech. Yes, Tech is elite in the engineering domain. This is...
  3. A reminder from President Cabera that there’s a chance.

It would probably need to be both to preserve the Title IX ratio. It's embarrassing that Tech doesn't have men's and women's varsity soccer programs; the ACC is a soccer-rich conference, and it would be one more way Tech could compete in the conference. It would take time, of course, to develop...
  4. Non-adidas GT Swag

I recently purchased the Section 103 gold hoodie that says Tech in the new athletic department wordmark (medium). I think they got the gold just right. I originally got the gold hoodie that said Georgia Tech in the new workmark, but it was too small (got an S), and they didn't have (at the time)...
  5. Unlikely but great forgiveness.

I went around our dorm floor for two weeks prior to this game saying we were going to beat UGAg, and no one was buying it. Once in a while, a broken clock is right, I suppose!
  6. Are we bringing back the old school "T"?

I have this shirt (in navy, I know, sacrilege) and I love it. I waited until the stats were updated to reflect our latest bowl game in the total. Fits true to size. I would wear it all the time if I still lived in Atlanta, just so UGA folks would be reminded of the NC number.
  7. [Poll] Out of pure curiosity - Did you attend Georgia Tech?

I applied to Tech and got in, but couldn't afford the out of state tuition, so I went to UAH three straight terms beginning in the summer after high school graduation. Along the way, figured out I could co-op, which would help me finance my OOS tuition. Transferred to Tech in Spring of my...
  8. Potential Head Coach Hires

Life is too short thinking that one must put up with this sort of toxic personality. In a country of 329 million, I have a hard time believing that there isn't a better all around person for the job than someone who is known to behave this way. We are preaching Total Person Program, or Everyday...
  9. Potential Head Coach Hires

And miss the opportunity to vote UGag out of the CFP?
  10. Georgia Tech Bowl Projections

I want Tech to go to the best possible bowl. Having said that, since I live in Annapolis, I would love to see Tech play here. If not here, then as good a matchup/bowl as possible, of course.
  11. Ideas to raise our visibility ?

I've been preaching this for years. It's embarrassing that Tech does not have varsity men/women soccer. The ACC is dominant historically in soccer. Lots of kids play soccer from 4-5 years old on up. Youth soccer is enormous in the South these days, and very popular everywhere else, as well.
  12. Coastal Chaos

Yep. Twice as much as the other teams I mentioned. ;)
  13. Tech or Kentucky?

Wow, you were very good with this one.
  14. Coastal Chaos

Yes, because that puts Duke at one more loss than us, so they won't have the tie breaker on us. When we beat Miami, being optimistic, that gives us same number of losses as Miami, but we hold head to head tie breaker on them. Same with Virginia when we play them. We need Pitt to lose a lot, and...
  15. Bowl game (what bowl and who do you want)

Navy plays Cinci this weekend, so Cincinnati would have some prep in facing us in a bowl. Still, would love to see Tech play here in Annapolis.
  16. Duke Postgame

Agreed. Folks from Texas talk bigger than they can show. Texas folks also tend to be All About Things Texas with pretty simplistic views of the other 49.
  17. Blue. Pants.

He called the g/g/g look a French fry.
  18. On a lighter note....

Yes, I remember this behavior. As a HS band kid, I hated this behavior. After numerous near-misses, I watched as one clarinet player got hit right in the mouth. I wrote a letter to the 'Nique after that. Just so much uncool.
  19. Northwestern South ??

I graduated BEE and MSEE; with my undergraduate degree, I also received a Certificate in American Literature. So, yes, there are definitely ways to get a well-rounded education at Tech. As an aside, I wanted to study French, but as a co-op, it was impossible to get the six courses as they were...
  20. Northwestern South ??

The Calculus argument is thin. 1) There are great HS student-athletes who are more than capable of passing calculus. 2) Not all majors at Tech require calculus. Analytical abilities are a fundamental strength of all Georgia Tech students. To help them develop those skills, Tech students are...
