I agree with everything in this post except for 6 wins being considered a huge statement. I hope we never get to the point where we believe that mediocrity for GT is a huge statement.
I think we've taken a few steps back on offense and really haven't progressed at all on defense since the change in regimes, but if we can win 6+ this season and stay on that trajectory, I could see us building something from here.
This. If CGC wins 3 or 4 games, he may very well get another year, but he will be on borrowed time. That said, this is all just hypothetical because I absolutely expect us to go bowling this year.
Our Jackets get 4 first place votes to win the Coastal but are predicted to finsh 6th overall in the Coastal ahead of only the dukies.

That's some good spirits right there. I usually have a small minibar set up at 1 evening game a year and for the last 2, I've had the Bourbon and Rye Whiskey from Moonrise along side some Gentlemen Jack.
I just can't buy that winning 3 or 4 games, or even expecting to win 3 or 4 games, doesn't make you a little sad. I mean we're fans 'fanatics' of Ga Tech football and being at least somewhat emotionally invested is part of that. If we win 4 or less games this season, I will feel extremely bad...
I expect us to win 6 games minimum this season and go to a bowl game. You either expect to win 4 or 5 games this season while also expecting to be unhappy, or you expect to be happy winning 4 or 5 games. Which is it?
I would trust that the GT football team knows more about themselves and their opponents than any fan of said team. My expectations for this team has not changed for year 3 since CGC's first year. I expected to be a bowl team by year 3 and I still do. It's really ok for fans to have varied...
If you ask anyone on this team, including coaches if they should be expected to win at least 6 games this season, I think they would agree with me or maybe even be offended by the perceived low expectations.
At this point, we should be expected to win a minimum of 6 games and become bowl eligible. I know that's what I expect. It is of no consequence to me if consensus differs from my opinion.
3rd year in a system after winning 7 in the previous system, a team should be capable of upsetting a ranked team and winning the minimum to become bowl eligible. It is pitiful that some fans would be happy winning 4 or 5 games going into this season.
Not knowing where Colorado sits, I do know that visiting fans are highly intermingled with GT season ticket holders on the south end of the lower and upper east sections.
I think we have a bigger problem finding top flight SA's who are willing to put in the work at GT than just being limited on who we can go after. If you put those 2 together, I think that puts us well below that 25% threshold of the total pool that we get to fish in. Not too many DL war...
