Guys played hard, but were coached poorly again this week.

I believe most Defensive Coordinators have realized that the bread-n-butter of this Offense last year was the pile driver 2-man dive attack of Laskey and Synjyn Days running behind Shaq Mountain. Their schemes this year seem designed to force us outside to eliminate this dive-play threat. Big...

    My collected thoughts...

3rd & 1, 4th & 1, and we still can't get the score made all the difference in this ballgame. I agree about Gotsis. When he left the game for targeting, the D just fell apart. Momentum seemed to shift immediately, and we could not stop their elusive quarterback even on 3rd and long on many...

    Interesting quotes

Shaq kept the serious 1-2 hammering punch of the dive threat of Laskey and Synjyn the Engine ever present forcing Defenses to react to it. We have to re-establish the dive threat - one of our bread-n-butter plays with the TO - to insure Offensive success. Laskey was almost a sure bet for 4-5...

    Duke Postgame

"...Thomas said he can’t put a finger on Tech’s offensive problems. 'If I could tell you, we wouldn’t be starting slow,' he said. 'We’ve got to play harder. We’ve got to make plays all around the board, me included.' ” http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092715aaa.html It's a...

    Duke Postgame

"Dem Damn Duke Boys" are pretty good! Cash cashed it in. That guy is an excellent defensive player. He gave JeT fits all day long.

    Notre Dame Postgame

Their O-Line with every man over 300 lbs was absolutely humongous, a WALL of humanity. They had big AND FAST athletic players on Defense. ND is a very talented team. Their O-Line allowed their new QB to sit back and relax and take all the time in the world to make his passing decisions...

    Brian Kelly Press Conference

My takeaway is that they will be under pressure to score every time they get the ball. They are keenly aware of how much points per game we are capable of. This is a statistic that sticks out in this coach's mind prominently. I do not think this coach will allow his team to play too...

The ND "putdown" has already started.

I like it when our opposition gets the Big Head. We should always welcome all comments that contribute to perennial delusions of grandeur, which we all know terribly afflicts UGA players and fans and may be the cause of Clemsonitis.

"Getting back to what we do...."

Exactly! The TO depends on not only good perimeter blocking but also a qb's ability to get in place for the pitch-out, if needed, before the defender can get there and prevent it. Speed is a critical need and JT's got it. This speed helps the timing of the TO.

    OL/qb... chicken/egg

JT is excellent at changing the play-call at the line of scrimmage. He reads Defenses pretty good both before hiking the ball and during execution. He will only get better each season at this. I believe his speed helps the timing of the option to flow faster and thus be more successful...

    Myths busted

Simple Question: It's 3rd or 4th and long (7-15+ yards) and the game is on the line, do you pass it or keep it on the ground and go for broke? Yes, it was our saving grace in the UGA game, but that was quite an exception. There were many times I can recall in other games when the passing game...

    Myths busted

Myth Busted: "We don't need a passing game with the TO offense." Thx for keeping it honest about the bowl myth. I believe the passing game can change that if we can develop some chemistry between DW and JT.

    GT providing the blueprint

I'm pulling for FSU for no other reason than to vindicate the ACC, to vindicate the GT Yellow Jackets, to make our Home game victory over them next year all the more sweeter, and to make all of those pundits eat crow for devaluing a team that has won 29 straight ballgames just because most of...

    SEC Dominance?

Yeah, it seems to me that FSU had started plugging the gaps forcing us to the perimeter where they could buy more reaction time and make us run more lateral yardage. They decided to hedge their bets on the speed of their defense by forcing us to run the perimeter or pass. It was very smart...

    SEC Dominance?

I wouldn't say we ever had a "clear chance" to put the game away, but the passing game might have given us a chance had we utilized it more when it was clear they were getting stops on us. We can all agree that our passing game has bailed us out at times when we've been in some binds in some...

    SEC Dominance?

All I'm trying to say is that PJ seemed to be playing it too conservatively with the passing game. He seemed to be playing keep away instead of put this game away. I think when it was clear they were catching on to our running schemes and getting stops we should have let it rip. Not having...

    Bowl season slide, what's real?

Yeah, many teams can catch on to you if you remain too one -dimensional and start getting enough stops to make a difference. Being able to execute the surprise pass game all year long has been a critical part of our game-winning ability. We can't start playing too conservative without...

    Bowl season slide, what's real?

I believe it's two-fold. The opposing teams have more time to heal up and get their defensive starters back healthy and prepare for this unorthodox defense, and we haven't had the magical combination of a great O-line with a serious dual-threat QB in our program and a very opportunistic...
