The ACC will delay the start of competition for all fall sports until at least Sept. 1

I see your point, but I am not trying to scare anyone. That quote was from a widely viewed (in the northeast) website (nj.com) that's owned by a large media company. I want to provide information to the board that I believe will help us understand the situation. Personally, I want football to...

This was on NJ.com yesterday. They cover Big Ten sports: "The mother of an Indiana offensive lineman said in a viral Facebook post that her son is battling heart problems after “14 days of hell battling the horrible virus,” a chilling post for anyone still convinced that this is only a problem...

Someone recorded the SEC conference call with player reps. The reps are not happy with the risks they are being asked to assume by people who have such a huge financial interest in playing the season. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/08/01/sec-football-players-safety-meeting/

The MLB mini season is in serious jeopardy right now. When/if the football season begins it's going to be difficult to keep the coronavirus out of locker rooms if students return to campus. As baseball is learning case zero can be anyone on your team or the team you are playing.

Here is the issue: With half their team in quarantine, and maybe more headed that way soon, the Marlins are no longer competitive. The teams that play this reduced roster have an unfair advantage over those who might play them with a full roster. Also, this is just the first shot in a battle...

This quote re MLB from last night about sums up my feelings this morning. It's by Chris Hayes of NBC: “This is a business that has everything going for it. Every resource it needs, every incentive to open safely. And their plan has basically not survived first contact with the virus.” If the...

With a tough set of rules, MLB and the NBA are already having issues. It is hard for me to see how we get a full season of football at GT.

Question about this season and the ACC

If ND plays a ten game schedule with the ACC, I believe they would throw their NBC money into the ACC bucket and share with the other 14 teams. Their NBC contract runs through 2025, so what the ACC has negotiated with ND could come down to ND joining the conference in football at that point...

Question about this season and the ACC

This has always been an issue for the ACC. The schools don't control their destiny. Governors can limit gatherings or ban them entirely.

Question about this season and the ACC

I don't think the NC governor can keep the teams from playing, but he might be able to keep them from playing in NC.

You are correect. The injured list is changed to ten days but does not include players who get COVID positive tests. Two legit negative tests ar required. If the first positive was legit, he will not be back in 2-3 days, even if asymptomatic.

It did not take long for a MBL player to test positive and have to sit for ten days. So, the Nats will be without Juan Soto for ten days, then he has to have two consecutive negative tests. This should be something the P5 conferences watch closely. It will be very difficult (perhaps...

I agree that being in person is far superior. The point you are making is an important one, even if unintentional. Being a part of the event (in this case as an active spectator) is one of the joys of sports. Being at the that Braves game when Sid Bream slid across home plate was a moment to...
