In addition to New Old Guy, I’ll give it a shot. Georgia Tech’s new rookie Graduate Assistant Coach, Matt Wieters, took over for Danny Hall during the final two innings. Wieters did a great job. He was cool as a cucumber. There were no further incidents.

Well, between the two bottom-dwelling ACC baseball clubs, the competition was keen and emotions ran high. LOL
  3. Last Night's radio broadcast of the game

All things are possible. Worth a try to contact Wiley, or whoever the announcer was, to ask about whether either a video or audio tape of the foul ball exists. Could someone get this request started first with Mr. Wiley? He can follow up to inquire about this specific play with his ESPN contacts.

Oh, no offense taken, at all! I would love to read a similar article that is current and up to date.
  5. Should Hall Retire? (Poll)

I forgot to add one more thing that my son-in-law said to me about his baseball recruiting efforts in general: “I’m forced to recruit the leftovers.” In other words: he’s a Division III baseball coach. LOL
  6. Interesting article

My immediate thought after reading the piece was, well, the article is four years old, yet over the past three years GT has continued to have former players drafted by major league teams … like Parada, Henry-Mallory, Xzavion Curry, etc. I don’t keep up very closely, though.
  7. Should Hall Retire? (Poll)

My son-in-law, who is the head coach of a Divsion III baseball team, tells me that far too many high school pitchers pitch too much and throw their arms off, especially when they play travel ball during the summers when school is out. He also tells me that pitcher is the hardest of all...

    I agree wholeheartedly, CincyMetJacket!

Tech needs Compton to stay healthy the rest of the way. He has already missed a whole bunch of games from two hamstring pulls. This is a more dangerous team with Compton in the lineup. His grand slam home run against Mercer in tonight’s game was huge!

    Thank You!! 👍

GTNavyDuke, could you please provide the same current summary information on Georgia Tech here? i.e., 2023 Georgia Tech Schedule, Records, Last 10/Streaks, Rankings/Strength of Schedule (SOS), and Quadrant Records - RPI Thank you!
  13. Should Hall Retire? (Poll)

I agree with eokerholm. By the way, Perfect Game is not the only organization involved in travel baseball. There is no singular governing organization in travel baseball. Rather, there are several organizations and facilities that host tournaments with varying criteria. Some of the dominating...
  14. @Miami, Baseball

Today’s second game was shortened to 6 complete innings due to travel curfew.
  15. @Miami, Baseball

Miami’s right-handed pitchers Gage Ziehl and Andrew Walters were outstanding in their win over our team, 4-2, last night on Miami’s Bark in the Park Night. I watched the game on TV. The dogs were cute. Speaking about Ziehl, Miami coach Gino DiMare said, “Maybe our best performance by a starter...
  16. Virginia Tech, Baseball

Well, after cooling myself off a bit yesterday and today, I find myself heartened by one of Yogi’s wise sayings: “In baseball, you don’t know nothing.”
  17. Georgia State, Baseball

After that long, long ride home from last weekend’s 3-game fiasco in Blacksburg, I hope the entire team re-dedicates itself to better outcomes for the rest of the season. It’s not too late.
  18. Should Hall Retire? (Poll)

My understanding is Hall is under contract until 2025, as is Ramsey. I’m inclined to believe the CPC (current pitching coach) should be fired immediately. Have Wieters take over the pitchers for the rest of the season. And let Hall decide if he wants to retire and ask for Ramsey to take over...
  19. 2022-23 Season

I have no knowledge of anything that’s going on inside the clubhouse. But in looking on from the outside during the past several years, it’s apparent that the Borrell experiment with the pitching staff has failed. This is Borrell’s fourth season as the team’s pitching coach. It is clear as day...

Actually, it was Cannon’s first pitch to Finley.
