  1. Worst coaching decision... ever?

I dunno. ‘Ol Cristobal was intently listening to different coaches talking into his headphones, so I have no idea what he (Cristobal) was thinkin.’ Maybe he just had a brain fart and let his Offensive Coordinator call the plays. Who knows? Glad it happened, though. LOL BTW, here’s the bio for...
  2. On to Miami

Hopefully our Jackets will go 50-50 (3-3) in this season’s remaining games. Finish 6-6 and earn a small bowl game somewhere. Baby steps. I’m optimistic.
  3. Ok lets see who is honest.

My wife GTRamblerLady and I watched the entire game from the start to the end. We both yelled out OMG!! two times: 1. When the fumble occurred and Tech recovered. and 2. When our Jackets scored the winning touchdown. Then GTRamblerLady asked me why didn’t we kick the extra point. I replied...

  5. On to Miami

I thought my statement was clearly inferred. LOL
  6. On to Miami

It will be interesting to see how well (or not?) our Jackets play against the Hurricanes, after two weeks of practice and game-planning for them.
  7. Let's keep some perspective here on our NEW HC

I wouldn’t be surprised if halftime adjustments were indeed made, but the players failed to execute them.
  8. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Can’t say I disapprove of this move. I’ve been wondering about Thacker for a long time. Over the past four years, in fact. I still don’t understand why a new DC wasn’t named to replace Thacker in the first place, before this season began.
  9. Sideline Note: Why does Thacker wear little pieces of white tape around his fingers?

I now think you’re right. Also, I now think it’s very likely the tape on his fingers don’t mean anything … perhaps it was just his way of “looking tough” … mostly more of a flashy appearance thing with him, and that doesn’t lead to real substance.
  10. Sideline Note: Why does Thacker wear little pieces of white tape around his fingers?

Maybe so . But my original question was serious. Our defense against Bowling Green continually looked like they were out of position and/or playing in the wrong gaps, etc., which led to the Falcon offense’s fantastic third-down conversion rate. Was this because of our DC’s overly complex...
  11. Sideline Note: Why does Thacker wear little pieces of white tape around his fingers?

Perhaps so. Something like two fingers, three fingers, and then one (2-3-1) to denote one type of defensive alignment, or something like that. I’m just not sure, however, whether he signals only with his fingers. I’ve also seen him use a variety of hand and arm movements and gestures, etc...
  12. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

LOL. I’m sure ‘ol Brent chimes in to Faulk ‘n Weenee ever now ‘n then.
  13. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

I believe it is the tandem of Faulkner and Weinke.
  14. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

I agree, because it may simply be a coincidence that most — if not all — of the sideline camera shots of Coach Key in last night’s televised broadcast of the game showed him cool and calm. And yes, quite possibly, nothing more. In last week’s televised Ole Miss game, for example, the sideline...
  15. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

My goodness, what a game. Ugly and brutally physical. Our players shot themselves in their own feet so many times with penalties and mental mistakes, especially in the second half. So much so, that they started running around on bloody ankle stubs … But their physical efforts and mental will...
  16. GT @ Wake Kick Time: 6:30pm on the CW

Correction to my previous post in this thread. The GT-WF game will be on Spectrum cable channel 707 (Peachtree TV).
  17. GT @ Wake Kick Time: 6:30pm on the CW

    Channel 709 on Spectrum cable.
  18. Postgame GT 23 - Ole Miss 48

I I agree, oriental. Especially with your last sentence. The guys on our team were in the game until the fourth quarter, and there was never any quit in them. Sadly, if I could opine objectively and truthfully … at least from my perspective. Our guys were simply out-athleted in the end. In...
