I have attached a pretty good article by Andrea Adelson of ESPN concerning the ACC Spring meeting. First thing I noticed was that FSU and Clemson are in attendance! Andrea covers some FSU fan comments and an up-date of the lawsuits. She reveals that FSU and Clemson have been involved in zoom...
Just an up-date on the ACC Spring meeting. I was wrong on my belief that it would be on the same dates as last year. During the Softball tournament, Taylor Tannebaum announced that the Spring meeting will start Monday (Tomorrow). I believe it will continue through Wednesday(13th--15th). Not...
I know that the idea that the ACC could steal a program from the Power 4 today is pretty unrealist. However, there was a time only two short decades ago when that idea was considered a strong possibility by one of Tech's own, Frank Broyles. I have attached an article from my old paper files...
Speaking of getting past the Chaos, see the attached AP article by Ralph Russo concerning a new bill introduced in the House. If I understand, the bill will protect the NCAA from legal action and allow NCAA to establish rules concerning NIL and Transfer Portal. Perhaps this will allow the...
For those who are interested, I have a little more information on the ACC Annual Spring Meeting. Kelsey Riggs, David Hale, and Wes Durham had a short discussion about the Meeting on ACC PM. They said that the meeting will be next week at Amelia Island without giving dates. I am ASSUMING it...
I was surprised to see the two attached articles concerning Penn State and the status of their NIL program. It Indicates that they are not competitive at the Championship level. Gist of the articles indicates that Penn State does not have the "Whale" or "Rainmaker" type donors like some other...
I have attached a couple of AP articles showing the Big 12 reaction to the new CFB playoff situation and the current relationship between the Power 4 Conferences. They are more positive than the current perception of the ACC. I suppose they can afford to be since no one is trying to leave...
My wife and I attended the 2012 ACC Championship game against FSU. The talk about GT going to the B1G was really a hot topic on Friday before the game on Saturday. I remember getting up early on Sunday morning after the game to find a Charlotte paper to see if there was any final news. I...
.
Ivan Maisel who wrote the article that you attached was also on the ESPN E-60 special concerning the History of College football. He firmly said that GT said NO to the B1G.
Maisel was born in Mobile, AL and graduated from Stanford. His first job was with the Atlanta Constitution in 1981...
Thanks for checking. The last two Spring meetings concluded on May 12 in 2022 and May 17 in 2023 according to media reports. ACC may not have planned one this Spring due to Turmoil.
Occasionally, I watch "ACC PM" at 4:00 PM. I will post a date if one is announced.
I think we can all be proud of what GT has accomplished over the years. I encourage you to read the attached article from Forbes. To be ranked with the 20 National Universities shown (10 Public and 10 Private) is quite an accomplishment. Article is about the "New IVYs".
I think we can be...
I have attached my source which is Microsoft AI. Mark Packer on the ACC network mentioned to a guest coach that he would see him at the ACC meeting. I started to look for the date since I wanted to listen for any news on the FSU---Clemson situation. The regular sources did not seem to have...
Thanks for this post, interesting information. Concerning the undergraduate population, see the attached concerning a new Dorm on the west side for FIRST YEAR students. I remember a newsletter from President Cabrera concerning an effort to make Tech more attractive to Rural Georgia students...
The ACC Annual meeting at Amelia Island will be June 6-9. The ACC has filed for an Injunction to not allow FSU participation in ACC's management. I am not sure if a similar Injunction was requested for Clemson or not. I wander if there will be a ruling on the Injunction prior to the meeting...
