  1. So what coach interviewed today??

Doesn't Pelton have ties with Roof? Maybe Ted could convince him to stay if we can ante up and match the offer.
  2. Team Notes/Info on signees (AJC)

Jason, I was excited to see that too. Joe really impressed me too. But someone on one of the boards said it wasn't true.
  3. CPJ Press Conference

Another tiny bit he said concerning the A back. Remember how people went back and forth on whether Qua was going into the spring at A or receiver? PJ said Qua practiced at A half the season.
  4. CPJ Press Conference

I heard two clues about next year. First three wide receivers going into the spring are Summers, Jeune, and Messick. In response to whether any true freshman A backs would play, he said the first four A backs are Snoddy, Andrews, Qua, and Lynch. I believe he said he likes to play six, so...
  5. Justin Thomas

This may not really go here... I was replaying the MSU game the other night and came across a pass I remember marveling at when watching live. It was a medium length pass to the right sideline, probably to Waller. There was a defender in front of our receiver and one behind. Justin threw a...
  6. Senior Appreciation Tony Zenon #9, RS SR, Became a Jacket on 1/31/10

I am another who loved his story. IIRC, his offer came at the last minute. Some thought he was a desperation offer. They wondered whether with his small size and having played in a private school league if he would ever be a contributor. All of that made me pull for him the more.
  7. Turnovers: Why We Were So Good in 2014

This is no doubt a big part of 2014, but not as fun to talk about as the blocking, improved pass game, JT's running and so on. I know PJ says at the end of every radio show that turnovers are one of his big three factors in the upcoming game. Being a Tech fans has made me notice just how few...
  8. ESPN Calls Jackets "ACC Favorite to make Playoff" in 2015

One thing that will be interesting is who the AJC plays it when mid summer arrives and interest in college football starts to rise. Typically they have articles about the Bulldogs chances at being a national factor. Somewhere in the blather they will mention than Ga Tech also plans to field a...
  9. Justin Thomas

We started the season thinking that JT would probably struggle some in his first year as starter. Probably toss some bad pitches, throw into coverage and get intercepted, fumble some. Well, his pitches were great, he didn't fumble, and he only threw into coverage about the same number of times...
  10. OL Speculation 2015

These returning linemen are one of the main reasons I don't see a big second year fall off.
  11. 2015 Home Opener

Chillin', my first take too was what is this weirdness about? In addition to the other points, someone said it allows you to start fall practice earlier. And you have a little extra time to prepare for your second opponent. I guess it's no biggee.
  12. Early signing period

This would be a great thing for GT. I worry that the factories will sabotage this somehow. That status quo works fine for them. They are fine with wheeling and dealing to the last minute, and if they lose one or two at the at crunch time, raiding the non-factories works for them.
  13. Off season complacency

FSU is a perfect example. Most of the same players, but lacked something this year.
  14. Off season complacency

cheese's point is very true. Many teams, not just GT, don't follow one great season with another one. I don't think we'll know the answer until 2015 unfolds. I put my hope that we have many key players returning, not just from the point of view of the athletic side but from the team chemistry...
  15. Is the next Duke Johnson or Geovani Bendard....

If Snoddy returns to where he was just before he was hurt, he's the one I'm looking for big things from.
  16. Another thing to like about our offense

This overlaps a lot with Boomers' recent post. I watched a portion of the first half of the Florida State - Oregon game. Twice the 'noles had the ball at the ten or closer and came away with no points. Passing is difficult with the restraint of the end zone. It appeared to me that they...
  17. CPJ speaks at AFCA Convention

Wow! Coach Johnson has a second career waiting as an inspirational speaker.
  18. Offensive Styles

I agree, Boomer. I have never understood how teams are all that effective with running plays out of the gun. As you say, the play develops much slower. I don't see the possibility of as many options as we have. Plus the fake or keep takes place isolated behind the line where it's out there...
  19. Redshirts from 2014 - Biggest Impact in 2015?

Well, if Quaide, C J, and M L-D all play to potential, we might have to look at the jumbo A back possibility.
  20. Redshirts from 2014 - Biggest Impact in 2015?

I like the position we are in with B back. If QW learns and looks pretty capable in the spring and fall, then my guess is he will be the backup and Land-Davis will redshirt. The only thing which would mess up that scenario would be if Lands-David is so good early on hat PJ feels he must find a...
