  1. Last Year's UGA Game

Every time I spend a mind wandering hour cutting the lawn, all summer long, that almost exactly describes what I like to picture.
  2. Last Year's UGA Game

You know, this is what I would have expected most Bulldog fans to think. Trying to look at it from the other side, I would have been seriously bummed watching my blue chip defense dominated and seeing the other team's cat quick point guard of an option quarterback and knowing he had two more...
  3. Last Year's UGA Game

Like probably everyone, I thought after the kickoff recovery we had the game. We had been pretty much unstoppable, and had a huge extra helping of mo after the recovery. I have to give some credit to UGA for making some plays at that point. I would have much preferred we took over the game...
  4. The Case for Ted Roof

One other thing -- Roof is at Tech and Atlanta by choice. He is not looking to go to a more prestigious program or make a lot more money. We can build continuity with him anchored as DC and CPJ anchored as head coach/OC.
  5. The second half

The off season is pretty rotten for football message boards, ain't it? Anyway, I was shaking my head in wonder for the umpteenth time at the thought of a Georgia Tech offensive line blowing huge holes in the defensive lines of Georgia, Florida State, and Mississippi State. If I hadn't have...
  6. Notre Dame Football 2015 Off-Season Preview: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Just barely on topic, but where does the bad blood between CPJ and BVG come from? The year he coached Southern, dissed all the traditions and had a wretched season? Did he say the wrong thing during his brief spell at UGA? Or just 'cause he coached at UGA? Anyone know?
  7. Joe Hamilton and Herschel Walker...

I think it is very likely. The fact that they were different players playing in different offenses does not take comparison out of the picture. You can still compare overall impact. In order to highlight their skills, you need a strong supporting cast. It would appear we have that now.
  8. JHD eligible for 2015

What wonderful news! On the defensive side, his was the one position I didn't feel good about if he couldn't play. I can't wait to see him flash past offensive linemen and be in the backfield.
  9. 960 The Ref

Agree with deeznutz! This is inspired!
  10. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

Another one of those "we'll have to wait and see" kinda things. Pass protection. From what my uneducated eyes see, the B back often is left to pick up the first unblocked rusher. Many passes or gotten off or not partly depending on whether the B back was successful in keeping somebody out...
  11. What do you want to see happen over the summer?

I ditto Alabama's thought on JT and the receivers. Is there anything to be gained by a center, JT, and the B backs working on the mesh, or does that have to have more of a full team?
  12. Positions That Worry Me

Not worried about B back, or at least not much. Allen showed me plenty. He should be much closer to ready by the end of fall camp. And with the transfer and incoming talent. I share your concern about wide receiver. I like our A situation, although I am mostly thinking of their running the...
  13. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

I see this as good for him and good for us. We don't know whether he will be much of a factor for us, but an educated guess would be that he probably would be a suitable sub. We really prefer having two B backs. Allen looks like the 1 at this point, but the 2 is wide open. We have other...
  14. Georgia Tech Spring Game Thread

I was more impressed with Allen than I expected to be. From what I saw, he has all the B back tools. And that after only seven practices. Both lines look bigger and thicker than in years past. Jabari is a freak. He put on 60 pounds yet still looks like a linebacker and moves like a...
  15. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

I'm not worried about this situation. From the top, we deal ethically with recruits and those on scholarship. We must have a way to to take on this guy or else PJ wouldn't be interested in him.
  16. Practice Day #12

One other factor which I think might enter into this picture is Paul is our offensive coordinator. We all know how super competitive he is, and he does not lack for self esteem. When the offense is struggling, he might take it personally.
  17. Jabari makes transition to DT

This is gonna require tremendous mental self control. Not only has he gained all that weight, apparently what makes him so effective inside is his quickness. Huge weight gain and quickness aren't usually found in the same sentence.
  18. DL could be really, really good

Probably the usual gold colored shades, but I am more or less expecting most of those things to happen. My big question has always been what we'll do about Green's spot. Kallon's coming on is a happy surprise. Before, it seemed to me anyway, it was either Jabari makes the grades or we were in...
