  1. Improvements desired for 15

Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush.
  2. JHD eligible for 2015

Yeah, I was hoping that the bumping of this thread meant he had his grades.
  3. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

The thing I can't get my head around is whether I saw the same guy in the spring game as everyone else. I wonder if the fact that Allen was moved to the B as a kind of desperation Who else we got? kinda thing influenced the thinking. I saw a guy with power and speed, and that after just a...
  4. Are the 2014 and 2015 OLs Bigger, Better, or Both?

I sure don't know the answer to this question, but I have pondered it a bunch since late last season. It seemed to me we didn't start showing much different than other years until the last third of the season. (Except pass blocking. We were better at that all season long) That would indicate...
  5. Dynasty-perhaps?

I think this thread says something about this board. If you had posted such a purely optimistic sentiment on other boards, you would have probably be shouted down for being delusional, premature, etc etc. It's uplifting to have purely positive talk not be ridiculed. My two cents: Much hangs...
  6. JHD eligible for 2015

I like 33s starters part of the time. What I would like to see is something I don't think I've ever seen done. I would say Gamble starts of fear the opponent's running game more than passing. If we fear their passing more, then the best of Whitehead, Simmons, or Rook-Chungong starts. I don't...
  7. Brand New KeShun Freeman article--AJC.com

Not me. I never pay much attention to heights and weights. Let me just see how they play. But having said that, I am excited about Freeman with some experience and time in the system.
  8. Roddy Jones leaving GT

This is it in about as few works as possible. I think Roddy has a career in sports broadcasting if that's something he wants. It was just a matter of time before someone else noticed how good he is.
  9. Whatever Happened to...?

I think there is a lesson here, for me as much as anyone: don't pine for those who go elsewhere. We have had some who would have made a difference, but there are plenty more who end up disappearing. They are low on other teams' dept charts or get in trouble or something.
  10. Which new skill players will surprise people the most

Allen looked awful good to me in the spring game. Maybe it had something to do with my not expecting much, but he looked to have power and some good acceleration. It's a hard question to answer since we have seen so little of most of them. I also am expecting a monster year out of Snoddy...
  11. Previewing Our O-line

With 4shot, sidewalk, and probably thousands of others, I am still giddy and almost disbelieving what we did in the second half of Georgia, Miss State, and FSU. I have watched more replays this offseason than any other ten offseasons combined. I am firmly in the camp which says a great line...
  12. Harrell Transferring to Florida

Finally, the only thing that interests me. Four pages of speculation on what happened. It's a given that he is gone. I want to know what do we do now?
  13. New in '15: Cottrell brings threatening speed

Following up on swampsting's point, I hope Snoddy can be more of a pass target. If the corners take the wide receivers as they usually do and Snoddy can get out of the backfield without being bumped too much, he should be able to beat anybody deep.
  14. Can GT make the CFP in 2015?

The biggest problem is predicting what the other teams will do. My guess is we have a pretty good chance of making it in with a single loss if we finish strong. Having UGA and the league championship game at the very end is an advantage in that way. Some things need to fall into place for us...
  15. Excellent article comparing Justin Thomas & Tracy Ham

Interesting and encouraging. I have seen a lot of both, although the Ham memories are getting fuzzier all the time. The greatest similarity is that both seem to be playing at a different speed than everyone else on the field. It always looked as though Tracy Ham was a 45 rpm record when...
  16. More worthless offseason speculation, this time concern UGA game

Concerning last year's game, their DC was quoted as saying something close to "they were able to impose their will on us in the second half." I think fans of both teams would agree that was true. The question is, is that more likely to a) increase our confidence for next year and help us do it...
  17. Skill positions

It will be interesting to see how PJ makes use of Skov's skill set. As has been said, we haven't had a B quite like him before, or at least from what we think we have in Skov. At a minimum, he would seem a great fit for short yardage, either with the ball or clearing the way for JT. Imagine...
  18. Skill positions

I've had the same thought at redmule. To make sure Skov is in on passing plays is too obvious, but I can see us using some of that if some of the other new Bs don't turn out to be good pass protection blockers. Seems to me the B is often left to pick up the first unblocked rusher and the play...
  19. Skill positions

I came into the spring game expecting to see a mediocre, third string type B back. At least in the running part I saw a back with power and exceptional acceleration for a B. Boomer said after the game he was clueless at times about his assignments, but I'm gonna assume he will have those down...
  20. CPJ is da man, exhibit #112432

I kinda snickered when I first read about the rule, thinking "only the SEC would need such a rule." Most leagues don't have a lot of those in school to begin with. No other league has a coach the level of sleaziness of Saban, who would recruit Joseph Stalin if it would help him win.
