After two days,
The ACC has:
- 4 in winners brackets
- 2 in losers brackets
- 1 team eliminated
The SEC has:
- 4 in winners brackets
- 5 in losers brackets
- 2 teams eliminated
The B12 has:
- 3 in winners brackets
- 3 in losers brackets
- 0 teams eliminated
Ha, yes. But the mutts are our greatest challenge, and aren't great either. Mostly, this brings our opponent's holes to light. Very few perfect teams.
But those GT offensive numbers are good, too.
Some raw comparative data from Twitter, for those interested. The interesting column to me is "tournament rank." At first glance it doesn't seem as bad as many are afraid.
Absolutely - I'm not taking them lightly, just suggesting we don't have a lot of data points of their weekend guys vs tournament teams. They've earned their seeding, and I hope whoever gets game 1 for us is dialed in.
The Internet seems to think the mutts got a break, and were handed the easiest regional of them all. I'd love nothing more than to disabuse them of that notion and make it to supers.
uGA: Friday should have never been played, but we got a break with the cancellation. I'm happy to have another...
Here's d1's ladder. Just out, UConn is in
61. College of Charleston
62. Coastal Carolina
63. Indiana
64. Florida
—
65. Georgia Tech
66. California
67. James Madison
68. Troy
Baseball America has us in. UConn is more solidly in for them too.
Last Four In
61. TCU
62. Florida
63. Georgia Tech...
I think the fans that are upset are also pretty vocal. That's how that tends to go.
I'm hoping for more baseball. As disappointing as it was, I don't put a ton of stock in conference tournaments.
Here's d1's update for Sunday morning:
61. James Madison
62. Kansas State
63. California
64. Georgia Tech
—
65. College of Charleston
66. Indiana
67. Coastal Carolina
68. Georgia Southern
For what it's worth, D1 baseball has us in this morning, but barely. How they see it:
Kansas St
James Madison
Georgia Tech
California
------the line------
Troy
Northeastern
Coastal Carolina
Xavier
I doubt it. If we win that game, the loss is a real blemish on their resume, too.
"Not contributing to one's ability to win the ACC" is not the same as "not a real game on one's NCAA tourney resume."
This was a no rest situation. We pitched who we had, but it wasn't good. I'd love to scrap a win against the hoos with a real starter tomorrow in a game that's meaningless to them, but I honestly don't know who will start. Aiden?
