  1. Conference Realignment

Speaking of hyperbole… is this it? Did you mean 2025? Very few are talking 2035 by my estimation. My unscientific polling of this site puts 90% of us in the 2030-2033 range for dissensions. I would be surprised if anyone is gone in the next five years and SHOCKED if we are intact in 2035.
  2. Conference Realignment

I think this was all set in motion well before the CFP snub… and the sums of money we’re talking about are analogous to firing a coach with a huge buyout ANNUALLY. I agree that FSU wants more money but a lot of the stuff flying around the internet doesn’t result in positive cash flow for a long...
  3. Conference Realignment

The reason was to refute the notion that there is a “penalty” to get their media rights back. There is no penalty. It’s a transaction. The media rights are an asset. That asset has value. The owner of that asset has the ultimate say in what that value is when it comes to the question of selling...
  4. Conference Realignment

While I agree that this is the INTENT of the GOR (to run through 2036), if I am not mistaken, there is also a statement in the GOR saying it is in place to fulfill the ESPN agreement obligations. Even if it was not the intent to dissolve it if the ESPN agreement ends early, I think any decent...
  5. Conference Realignment

I think @Augusta_Jacket point is that even if the ACC accepts a payment and releases FSU from GOR, that doesn’t relieve the ACC of the obligation to provide the media they “sold” ESPN through 2036. Is that a breach of contract? I don’t know, but certainly worthy of consideration (and...
  6. Conference Realignment

:D:D Seriously? The whole thing started because FSU couldn’t stomach the thought of being at a $20m annual disadvantage. I guess that was all smokescreen?

  8. Conference Realignment

Maybe I misunderstood your point but If FSU really can’t get a full share until 2030, the math makes even less sense. They have to believe that they have an immediate home for far greater than $40m annually for this to make any sense at all. If they leave AND buy out their media rights at face...
  9. Conference Realignment

Also… most people read “ACC” as if it is a single entity capable of negotiating such an exit. The “ACC” in terms of the GOR is the ACC and the 15 member institutions who are a part of it. The GOR is designed to prevent a school (or schools) from leaving. It requires unanimous consent of 16...
  10. Conference Realignment

So yesterday it was sunny and 85 degrees and you sold me your jacket. Today it’s 40 and raining and you want your jacket back. You make very compelling arguments…. I’m old and fat and the jacket is far too small for me. It’s a younger man’s style and it doesn’t even cover me completely. It...
  11. Conference Realignment

This is where my head has been. And if the ACC is agreeing to set a precedent that MIGHT / COULD threaten the future of the ESPN deal (allowing teams out of GOR and ESPN deal), i feel like the number is much larger than this. Yeah, we could use $40m, but not at the expense of losing $40m annually.

NO! Not that mother scratcher! Justin TURNER!

However the BIG tells them to…. Right?! ;)

Kickers are under appreciated. Most people couldn’t even call the name of some of the greatest. ;) Regardless, best kicker ever:
  15. Jackets Travel to Louisville, 2/10/2024, MBB

That’s certainly true and not taking a thing away from Edey, what they do doesn’t change a lot when Edey goes out. Some is certainly less effective, but they play through Kaufman Renn (their backup) in very similar ways. And that approach didn’t happen in response to a once in a lifetime post...
  16. Jackets Travel to Louisville, 2/10/2024, MBB

I know it’s said to the point of being cliche but it’s really tough to win on the road. We certainly had our shot yesterday and it was a winnable game (which hurts) but in the grand scheme, I am far more concerned about several of our home losses.
  17. Jackets Travel to Louisville, 2/10/2024, MBB

WRT the bolded, it was actually a little worse than that. We were up by 9 with a little over 8 to play. Lville went on a 28-5 run over about a 7 minute span at that point. The “something” that happened was a whole lot of things. We gave 28 points in a little over 7 minutes. It was awful...
  18. Conference Realignment

I don’t disagree, I would presume it is in the ESPN media contract. FSU is not a party to that contract though. That is my point. FSU would not need to be consulted and certainly would not have approval rights over an amendment to it. When I asked why it was not documented, what I mean is why...
  19. Conference Realignment

There was a GOR before there was an ACCN, was there not?
