  1. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

Well, we have to be dog food for the mutts. Hard to live with UGA fans gloating, but they have seen underperforming teams for 35 years until Kirby, so at least we didn't have to put up with this for long stretch of time. Lets hope UGA over eats and gets a tummy ache.
  2. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

We can only hope. We need a fresh start in many ways, including quite a few of the players on scholarship. I am hoping there is a rush to the portal to clear out some space for new recruits and portal finds for the new coach. Not a player on this team I would be sad to lose to the portal or...
  3. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

LOL, I was thinking that same thing reading the post. Isn't that what we've BEEN doing under CGC and CBK? They make CPJ look like Bobby Dodd.
  4. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

This had better be the result. A complete retool of the coaching staff is needed, to get rid of the stink of the past several years.
  5. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

We can only hope. CBK staying on would be throwing in the towel and being content with the occasional 6 and 7 win season to go with a lot of 4 and 5 win seasons. Aim higher please.
  6. TECH VS MIAMI POSTGAME

And get a better QB recruit or via portal as well. Pyron could be decent, maybe could get to slightly above average, but I see just an average good game/bad game/good game/bad game yo-yo type QB. I do prefer Pyron to Sims for his slightly better passing ability, but neither would be a threat...
  7. GT looking at coordinators as head coaches

Then don't include me in the highly suspect 98% number. I don't want mediocrity as some do. I want to at least aim and shoot for national relevance. If we don't make it to that level, fine, but I don't want to settle (the new coaching search will speak to that) right from the get-go. I think...
  8. GT looking at coordinators as head coaches

It's year one for them, so not the right time to pass judgement at all. If they're as bad next year, then I would feel comfortable calling them busts, but not this year.
  9. GT looking at coordinators as head coaches

Keeping Key means a slow slog from oblivion to below average. No thanks. I'd argue the 3 to 5 years to determine if the new coach was right applies even moreso to Key and what choices he makes to improve the staff. If he maintains the two coordinators, then it would be like we never fired...
  10. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

I hope so, so GT won't make the mistake of hiring him.
  11. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

BoB is currently running Bama's uninspiring offense. He is way down any list of mine. He feels like a fall back hire, not a we're shooting for ACC titles hire.
  12. How Important is Recruiting?

Recruiting is VERY important. It alone cannot predict success. You can predict that without good recruiting, the chances at a National Title, much less an ACC championship are going to be very rare or never. I will say yet again, there is NO REASON Georgia Tech football cannot be a top 25...
  13. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

I'll pull for whomever we hire (hopefully not any of the current staff retained...fresh start). I personally would be fine with either of those two. I don't want a retread coach that didn't improve a program. Other than that, I am open to the hire. I am not really for O'Brien, Mullen or...
  14. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

Agreed. Fair or not, Key was part of the problem. The OL is nothing special (below average) which was his group. If Key stays, he might keep on the OC or DC and I want a fresh start all around. Very unimpressed by Chip Long. Terrible game plan and play calling. Thatcher, maybe with...
  15. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

You read my mind. Bringing a staff with them or hiring all new...it's six one way, half dozen the other. That is about as neutral as it gets. I just want a HC that has improved another program, hopefully more than one school. I want him to hire the best up n coming or established OC and DC...
  16. APP at Coastal tonight

His single biggest downfall was having a completely inept Reggie Ball at QB for multiple seasons. Had he recruited or started a competent passing QB, when they had GOAT Calvin Johnson and a good defense, we'd have actually been in the NC discussion in December a couple of times. Reggie Ball is...
  17. APP at Coastal tonight

I agree, BUT why do ALL of these high powered offenses have HCs/OCs that cannot hire a competent DC? I mean, its like all they care about is the offense. So we'd probably be back to 6, 7 and occasionally 8 wins, but lose a couple of shootouts becase the other team has even more yards and YPP...
  18. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

I want a guy/gal for BOTH. past success and currently holding their own. Most important to me, if we get a former HC, is did they improve a program? If so, good upside for us. If they just played caretaker to a program that was already improved or the program slipped each year...PASS. If we...
  19. Key lost the HC job today?

I said a few weeks ago I was not on the Key bandwagon. The brief uptick in play was just emotional boost provided by CGC leaving campus, not by Key being named interim. I was correct and as suspected we're back to CGC levels of bad football. This whole staff needs shown the doors.
  20. UPDATED TO 3.5 M! AD Email - GEORGIA TECH LAUNCHES COMPETITIVE DRIVE INITIATIVE

I just donated $100 and found my company also matches (1:1), so that's a spec of sand towards the goal. I assume that means my $100 becomes $300 via my company and GT foundation matching?
