Did you email/contact the president on that one? I am curious if you did and if he responded. That is seriously bad business by GT and maybe the President isn't fully aware of what admissions is doing (you'd think so, but you never know).
I wasn't taking a shot at Key at all, in case that was gleaned from my post. I am pleasantly surprised with coaching hires and intangible staff hires. I am surprised GT is spending enough money, given all the AA red ink, to field these extra high school coordinators/liaisons. In the end, the...
To this point, I am actually pleasantly surprised by the coaching hires and portal gets (no game changers, but experienced P5 types). It does indeed appear that GT admin and AA are spending a bit more to actually have a non-laughable staff. It's good to see.
Whether we can coach well enough...
Think I'll watch a little of his championship games at GSU, just out of respect. As a GSU to GT transfer (RETP), I have ties to both schools. I was present and at every home game when GSC (C, not U) was first division 1 school to ever go 15-0. That was a fun year to be a freshman.
GSU vs...
Recency bias at work. We were so awful football-wise, so quickly, that any staff that appears to be a improvement is now the GOAT staff. LOL. Sad that we fell that far, glad that we're up off the bottom.
Except at Georgia Tech.
Still peeved he didn't immediately become the focus of our offense, with minimum of 20 carriers a game with three or four 30 touch games during the season. Instead he was a part time player, rarely got 15 or more carries. Our best recruit since Calvin Johnson and our...
When do we focus on HS players that can actually shoot from outside? GT can't make anyting outside of 5 feet and can't make free throws for about 10 years running. Moses Wright and Jose Avarado were finds, but thats just two players in 15 years. Something drastic is needed. I hope this is...
Can't shoot is a mix of players and recruiting. When was the last time you heard about a top HS shooter being recruited? I think Pastner is too much like Calipari. He wants shiny Sportcenter athletes, shooting is of little concern (can they dunk when they get that one chance each game?)...
Pastner and his coaches can't recruit. I am most maddened by the lack of shooting. GT has been stuck in getting an athlete or project. Five athletes on the floor with mediocre coaching will stink. Four or five shooters on the floor, can win some unexpected games.
I'd like to see us move on...
So true. I have nephews and nieces doing that as well as longtime friends sons/daughters.
It would have been nice to have 20 or 30 hours of credits in the bank before even starting college. The money it saves students/parents is significant if they can shave a semester or two off the total...
Yep, 5+ year plan for me with RETP adding a couple of quarters and then I did co-op...for one quarter (cost me more than it was worth).
I could have gotten in under 5 without that lost quarter and without the couple of "withdrawals" from classes mid-quarter (the ones where a D or worse was...
I am only interested due to having a couple of Dynasty Fantasy Football teams. I won't watch a second of any of the playoff games. I have no interest if the Yellow Jackets, Steelers, Reds, Celtics or Penguins aren't playing in the playoffs/championships. I don't watch "other" teams. I WILL...
Only very partially true. Only the cream of the college crop at the football factories get NIL deals with real money. Even at the factories 75% of the players won't sniff a NIL deal of any noticeable value.
NIL will help draw more athletes attentions, so it is imperative GT have some well...
Love the avatar. He was always the villian in movies I saw and in quite a few John Wayne westerns. I can't even recall his name right now. I'd have to go look at Big Jake, The Shootist and other movie credits to find it.
I hope you're right on things improving. Which county or counties, in the outer metro area (fringey metro Atlanta) are setup best with protections on things such as lot sizes or size of roads or other intangibles that you know rube me the wrong way? I welcome your thoughts on that so if I go...
Okay, I did learn quite a bit. Thanks Tom. I like to see low regulations and court system that protects rights. I am not sure how I feel about the ease of granting zoning so easily though. I'd like to see counties and cities set aside chunks of land every so many miles for a sizeable...
well, considering that 404 and Atlanta are very loosely tied now thanks to wireless taking over wireline business and you can get any mobile number area code pretty much anywhere (move with you) I think 404 just shows the ages of some of us, including Collins. Many young recruits are probably...
Starting this as on the Football - Key's Staff thread, tomknight suggested my reasons for the small lot sizes, overbuilding of subdivisions and apartment complexes that have caused massive traffic issues are not sound. I want to hear his take.
