Interesting that he chose to focus on rebounding as a prime measure of "toughness". Defensive rebounding is pretty standard for that but he is looking for offensive rebounding as well. Probably half of the teams out there have chosen to give up on offensive rebounding in order to not give up...
. Just really hard to be a 6’7” big in the NBA. Everyone has his athleticism.
He has skills to be a big in the NBA just not the length. He has the length to be a wing in the NBA just not the skills.
Watching Heat and Suns, Usher looks like he belongs on the court athletically and skills wise but could shoot a bit better
Franklin got in the game but the structure of the NBA does him no favors. Heat played him as a wing - put him in the corner on offense and had him picking up high on the...
4th quarter you saw the upside and limitation for DeVoe in the NBA. The upside is he can operate in the space available in the NBA. He has a handle that allows him to get the offense going, he can get the ball to the right spot on time and if you go under a screen he can burn you with a shot...
What I really like is he is getting the ball to the right spot on time
We are getting a chance to see him play the PG position with space on the court. That is something we didn't have a lot of the time he was here.
Nice article. He went with a "classic" starting lineup at the 4 and 5 spots. Would not be surprised to see us go slightly smaller at the 4 given the lack of proven talent at the 5 spot. Especially if we are committed to a real 4 out set. That may put Coleman back in the lineup - if not...
There are a range of opinions on where the system is headed. But there are a fair number of aggressive opinions that college is simply going to go the way of pro sports with football, breaking off from the rest of the Olympic sports and colleges fielding fully funded football teams where...
The NBA finals has been all about generating switches and taking advantage of mismatches off of those switches. That is something we did not attempt to do at all last year. We did not generate switches to help our guys at all. I am looking forward to CDS bringing that mentality to McMammary next...
Are you going to make me go back and listen to the whole thing again to parse this and see who is correct? Why can't you just roll with it. Makes a great story ;)
In some degree of seriousness, I took it that the calls were part of the reason we went this way more than just diligence though...
I was intrigued by Goodman's comments that GT became interested after Brad Stevens started making calls. CDS sort of avoided the point in his next comments but it makes sense that Blatt would pay attention to a call from Brad Stevens and look hard at an option that wasn't otherwise obvious to...
I did not take him to mean to classic point guards but two guards who can both push the ball, pass the ball or shoot the ball. I actually took it as more combo guards who were good at their craft. By what he was saying, I think Kelly would fit in terms of a guard. He want to be very aggressive.
