I worry about them being an inside scoring team as we are not really a rim protecting team. We will need some improved inside help.
For a game like this we have to hope our athleticism/skill trumps their experience/cohesion. Long as we improve on defensive fundamentals (help - stay in front...
We didn't sub much at all second half. Claude and Kelly in particular were gassed at times. FWIW neither did Howard but it is different than what CDS discussed.
Kelly did make ISO ball work for this game - along with some transition baskets - and congrats to him - but I wouldn't count on that...
Full credit for coming back to win this. That is big and not lost in the rest of what I saw
Our defensive effort and fundamentals sucked in the first half and were only marginally better in the second. It wasn’t any great scheme - just wide open driving lanes and no help when the ball got in...
At the start of the game seemed to me we played a "basic" 4 out scheme with the 5 coming out to set a high ball screen top of the key and rolling. The rest of the team was well spaced but not a lot of movement. We ended up with a lot of passes to the roll and not a lot of passing out of that...
Box score is a weird look at the game. GT wins all the shooting stats and has 3X assists of Clark. But has 18 turnovers and gives up 20 offensive rebounds. Good win but there’s some things buried in the stats that cause questions
Less than positive pre season projections don't surprise me given our past performance.
Mine is middle of the pack ACC bubble type team with some upside. That would make me happy - especially if you can see some talent in the newcomers/young uns.
First job out of college I managed a production control department with 5 or so ladies doing the recordkeeping. My boss closed the door and said the fastest way out of the job was to get my P where I earn my bread and butter.
They are generally reserved for family and mega donors - or Ron Bell ;)
I would call the ticket group and see what they say. Even call the basketball office and see what they say. I expect the problem will be they won’t know what might be available outside of the core group...
GTAA sends out video on first day of practice and I gots me a question.
What the fighting Irish wannabees in hadeas are we doing wearing green practice jerseys? :cautious:
:)
I think you are right this episode was a major issue for Pastner. On the other side IMHO even before this he had shown he didn’t have the gravi tas to command an ACC program.
Not even close to fixing "all" our problems. But I do see both scenarios as legit steps but baby steps in that direction. We will likely never come close to matching UGA for overall revenue and are limited by the ACC media rights agreement, but Batt does seem to be providing increased support...
Given the turnover in the roster staff and system, I am in the “I got no idea” camp. Some thoughts but nothing I would put any money on
I will echo Relic’s point though. Figure it out early and not after it doesn’t matter anymore
I would bet a large part of that is seat fees/required contributions to buy seats at the cesspool. Doesn't make it any less real but helps to understand where it comes from.
