So I have a question for those of you who know a lot more about these things than me (most of you probably.) It seems like we are always playing soft coverage and when we are in M2M our defensive backs rarely turn to locate the ball when the receiver turns. Am I seeing those things wrong and if...
Yeah. Unless things have changed with the 3-3-5, precise throwing QBs are our Kryptonite. Or, should I say, Pyrethrins. So Howell will be a real challenge for us if history is any indication.
Huh. Well that's a happy accident. I was just making a joke and celebrating the fact that we have two QB's who might actually be good enough to have a controversy debate about. I certainly didn't mean to be cool. I'll work on that and try not let it happen again. Oh. Wait. You were being...
I know it isn't in Coach P's (see, not derogatory, but his last name is a nightmare to spell for me) playbook, but it sure seems like we have the personnel to mix in some two-back sets. Mason leading Gibbs or Smith seems like something we should add to the rotation if we are having trouble...
I'm actually not complaining about the officiating. It went both ways and was generally okay I thought. I am clearly not smart enough to understand why 'Rique's lowering of his head was targeting and the CU back's lowering of the head was 'bracing for impact.' Huh? Oh well, whatever. Next game.
And it will be interesting to see how Yates does once opposing coaches know to prep for him and have some tape on tendencies. I think he'll do well and adapt, but you have to think that the coaches believe more of the playbook is available with Sims...everything else being equal (which it never is.)
Yeah, that's what I believe as well. Not throwing stones. That's a call you make as a leader to focus more on X and less on Y. And sometimes it doesn't work out. I think they went base to keep that excellent coaching room at CU from having much to work with. I'm not sure it wasn't the right call...
If you read my comment, I said 'it sounds like', not 'I declare.' What I will declare is that some of you have the social skills of porcupines and/or the reading skills of UGA football players.
I think we should all think about this a moment: We put up 300+ yards in a limited possession game, mostly through the air, against arguably the best defense in the country. That ain't nothing.

Our chances of being competitive in the Coastal this year are much better than I thought two weeks ago this time. And it's not all better play by my Jackets.
Seeing how he's still in a brace I'm guessing a badly dislocated elbow. I'm no doctor and I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I'm probably wrong.
Fine, then running backs shouldn't be able to lower their head either. It just makes no sense...it either is or it is not okay to lower your head when initiating contact.
I agree. But I do worry about the message to Sims. There is a danger to having someone lose their position when they are out for an injury. I was talking to the lovely lady who continues to stay at my house despite me, and we discussed if it makes sense to utilize the fact that we have two...
Yeah, just to pile on that play call was fine. It was blown up by a guy who should be playing today but decided to stay another year for some reason.
But I do get the sense that Pnut get's too 'cute' down in the deep red zone. Dontae on a jet sweep to the wide side with our WR in tight and...
The big stat that stands out to me is 3rd Down Conversion. GT 3 - 15, Clemson 9 - 15. Even despite that we were basically even on TOP and beat them (barely) in Total Offense 309 - 284.
I wonder if the 'Effort-based' is part of the reason we see better game-players not getting playing time. The staff likes the idea that you earn playing time by effort in practice. That's good when everyone is equally talented, but I've hired many of a 3.9 grad who studied hard to get the grades...
