  1. Brandon Adams Tribute

If that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye you might want to check your heart. Rest easy, Big B.
  2. Leading Candidate for Ga Tech President

I also had Dr. Chen for 2308. One of the 2 D's I made at Tech, and I wanted to kiss him afterward because I deserved an F.
  3. Paul Johnson visiting the Ravens today

Mid terms week. We seem to stumble a lot during mid terms.
  4. Freshmen Arrive

I keep checking back looking for info on the incoming freshmen. Just a bunch of OFs ( most not as old as me) reliving their lives in area I dorms. By the way, Glenn third floor corner room overlooking BDS @ HGF fall of 1972.
  5. ESPN article

I have some of the highest of the high and the lowest of the low. I teach in rural NC. We average 70% free and reduced lunch, and 75% with no college background in THEIR family (I do know the difference, just got in a hurry). What we do doesn't work for everyone, but we do have a lot who do well...
  6. ESPN article

I don't flunk any. If they flunk, they do it on there own, and I provide all the help I can to help them be successful.
  7. ESPN article

The consequences are that they have to turn in quality work. We assess habits of work (turning in assignments on time, effort, collaboration, engagement in class, etc.) separately from what they can do academically. They know that if they have more time on an assignment, that it is graded more...
  8. ESPN article

I am a public school math teacher. I have high expectations for students and I hold them what I expect. If a student turns in an assignment or project and it is not complete and up to the standards set out when I assigned it, I return it and say "not yet". When it is complete, I will grade it...
  9. Your Favorite Underrated GT player?

Sean Bedford. "If you want my championship ring come take it off my finger".
  10. Tweet of CGC coached DB’s

Why can't we do BOTH at the same time?
  11. GA TECH IS BUZZING! | FOOTBALL HOTBED | NATIONAL UNDERCLASSMEN SHOWCASE ..

Trying to be reasonable in my expectations, I think replacing the bottom 4-5 players a year with 4-5 that are higher rated than we have been getting is possible. If we do this for 4 or 5 years, depending on redshirting, we will have 16-25 higher rated players on the field than we would have...
  12. So how do people feel about Brent Key and Geoff Collins-

Which just goes to show recruiting is not how to judge a program. It still comes down to w's and l's.
  13. ‘Ol CPJ’s GT spread option offense

And if you cherry pick even more, in the lowest single game the number is even worse!
  14. updated poll on coaching staff change

As an engineer, I'm really not into "feeling" things. If you want to know what I think, I'm still a big CPJ supporter. However, I think this new staff is an overall upgrade over the previous one. I am very optimistic for our future.
  15. Congrats to ASA!

And like a true Tech man, he said that he "got out"!
  16. OK - We now have our Dabo...

You can probably find several programs that spend a lot of money who don't perform well. However, I would doubt that there are many near the top of the rankings who do not have a large budget.
  17. Georgia Tech vs Minnesota

The first concert I ever went to was called the Detroit concert. It was in the building near Georgia State where they used to wrestle (Civic Auditorium or something like that). It featured Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes, Bob Seager, and a group called MC5. As a 15 year old I was shocked to see...
  18. Was Hotel Management a degree offering at GT in the 70's?

There was a Hotel Management degree in the past, and it did go to Georgia State. It happened way before the 1970's though. I started Tech in 1972, and it was not here then. Buck just missed the date in trying to make his point (go figure!). None of Pepper Rodgers players majored in Hotel Management.
  19. How much rebuilding are you willing to tolerate?

He also went 35-27 over the last 5 years, and 21-15 over the last 3. Neither of those would be described as a mess. You can cherry pick stats to make almost any point though.
  20. Coach Paul Johnson Appreciation Thread

Coach I just want to say thank you for leading the program the way you did. You made the best interest of our student athletes a top priority. You ran a clean program. You brought in high character young men and provided them with a pathway to success. And I really enjoyed watching the spread...
