It's not just sound, it's a perfect system for run blocking.
For straight pass pro, it is deficient. But the passing attack in that offense was never supposed to dependent on pass pro. It was supposed to be dependent on a dominant run game. We can agree that pass pro was an issue.
I had my issues with CMS, too. But the blocking technique is sound. Also, we did less cut blocking over the last few years of CPJ than we did in the beginning, especially as the OL got bigger and more talented. Everybody cuts.
I can never pick against us, so I'll say we pull out a miracle 31-27 victory.
My head is almost certain that won't happen, but I agree with another poster and say that playing #1 right off the bat is actually a great thing. Nobody will expect a victory, and nobody will be calling for heads if...
I'm sure CBK is doing an excellent job. He has the credentials to back up the claims.
It's laughable how little you understand about the old technique, though. CPJ is one of the most brilliant minds in terms of blocking scheme in history. Now, I believe he expected his scheming should be...
So simply having a TE will make us better? Also, if our WRs don't block, we won't do anything in the run game. I'll give you the D coaches argument. ST remains to be seen although we've got the same playmakers there.
There is another group. This group
1) understands the need to relentlessly market GT right now (in a way that frankly, CPJ did not)
BUT
2) are cautious about assuming CGC will have more on-the-field success than CPJ until they see it, and don't enjoy the national media (and CGC at times)...
Yes. I've mentioned this on here before, but one of my favorite two year periods in GSU football history was 2013 and 2014. Jeff Monken had returned to GSU and redeemed some bad years with the flexbone. Willie Fritz came in after Monken left for Army, installed an option based shotgun and...
Demarius Bilbo
Incredible physical tools. In a different system could've been a great dual threat QB. Transitioned to WR without complaint.
(And he won a couple Heismans at QB in my NCAA dynasty...)
The longer I coach myself, the more I learn that the most effective way to motivate and coach kids is to be who you are and lean into that relentlessly. (This assumes you love kids and care about seeing them become successful adults). If you have the right motives, and you know what you are...
We should recruit the most talented kids we can find who also have high character and can read and write. Period.
What the heck does their opinion of our colors have to do with who we should recruit?
The navy trim around white numbers is a NO BRAINER. How deep does your hate for navy have to be in order to argue that white on gold pops as much as this??
Anybody hear anything from Dish? I called them a week ago about ACCN and Fox Sports (which they are currently in a pissing contest with, so no Braves for me) and told them that without FS and ACCN I had no reason to keep them. They gave me a month free and a promise they were doing everything...
I would be willing to bet TO is going to get snaps, maybe with a specific package of plays. He is just too dangerous running the football to keep on the sideline the whole game.
Of course, as I type this, I see @Techster 's post pop up right above mine, and he makes a case for JG playing...
What @33jacket said.
It's all about the blocking scheme. And it needs to be simple.
The plays can be infinite, but the blocking needs to be the same for most of it in high school.
Any of you going to SunTrust for GT night? I would LOVE one of those Braves/GT hats. I believe they will be selling extras, so if someone wanted to be real cool and get me one, I would cashapp you for it and for shipping.
