I wonder if a potential move of TO to WR also played into this? Perhaps seeing JC returning, ME getting eligible, TO being on the field a lot as well as AB seeming to have locked down the slot.

That's a great look. Although I've been very critical of the job CDP is doing, I can at least see what he's trying to do in these clips. Better execution will make these plays more effective.

The rub is that in 2015, Temple's offensive efficiency was #54, and then in 2016 it was #31. Yes, I know they lost senior players... But those numbers on their own do not prove anything about CDP's abilities as an OC. A lot of arguments in his favor right now seem like major reaches.

TO played WR in high school, too. Even once he became QB1 and Northside, they would put him out there with the backup QB and get the ball to him in space.

I'm not saying that the article in question isn't a hot take, at best. However, to say opinions on DP were "mixed at best" is disingenuous. I have read little to nothing positive about him as an OC from Temple folks. Expressing frustration with DP does not equate to bashing CGC.

I've been on record here before about Willie Fritz. Loved what he did at GSU offensively (although it wasn't after down years. Monken was killing it, had a slight dip in 2013, and then got the Arm job... Fritz continue the success but did an incredible job adapting a flexbone roster to a spread).

He reminds me of some of the RBs from Bama over the last several years. Big, strong, can't bring him down one-one-one, straight line speed. When he came in, I saw him as another Mikell Lands-Davis... not sure if he was a BB or an AB, wasn't sure if he'd be starter quality. JM has exceeded...

I don't disagree that the players you mentioned seemed less effective than the ones you would rather have seen more of. As a coach, however, I GUARANTEE that the deciding factor on which one played more was which one the coaches thought gave us the best chance to win. NO coach in America...
