I think you are mistaking a lack of experience for something else. There is a difference between playing 4 years of top college basketball and playing 1.
The players were better in those days. You can say it. The best players played three or four years instead of one or zero. It isn't really controversial.
Shumpert went from not being on any mock drafts to being a sure first rounder because of his workouts. Shumpert was a double plus athlete, though, and I believe the NBA teams recognized that he was misused in college. Hewitt played him at point guard because he thought that would be his NBA...
It was the same when Bird and Magic entered the NBA. The league, including all of the players, were better off for it but some (Dr. J) were resentful of the attention they garnered. Heck, those guys saved the league.
He can sign with an NCAA approved agent. If he wants to return to school he has to cancel the agreement.
He can return to college if he withdraws by May 29th and cancels any agents agreements.
I believe undrafted players can also return, though I am unsure how any agent agreements work in that...

I would like to see...
They count as games, they just don't care about the standings. I think I have proven why and how they improperly overweight OOC SOS so there is an impact to the weight of conference games. I agree with you it should not be that way.
That might explain UNC getting a 1 over Iowa State or Kentucky getting a 3.
It most definitely does not explain South Carolina or all of the Mountain West bids.
