I subscribe to the AJC just to keep up with Georgia Tech sports. The current GT reporter, Chad Bishop, is doing an excellent job.

It’s largely unknown. There has been very little or no publicity (public media information) about Georgia Tech’s off-the-field football staff, other than a little bit about Tim McFarlin, whose job title is Director of High School Relations.

Except for the Ivy League schools and other conferences with only academic scholarships, yes. The percentage would be a good bit lower, but I don’t know by how much.
Only 1.6 percent of college football players make it to the NFL.
One-point-six percent.

I think, if I’m not mistaken, that I read something from some article somewhere, about a year or two ago, that Georgia Tech’s current (or recent?) season ticket sales figure is around 25,000.
This is just my guess and I am definitely not in the know, but my suspicion is that the ACC Commissioner and his conversations with the bowl-eligible teams’ athletic directors were heavily influenced by three factors:
1. Florida State’s elimination from the final top four by the CFP Committee...
Latest, this just in:

George looked like he filled in the missing piece this early in the season.
It’s a long, long season ahead, though. But hopefully the team can continually improve.
No doubt, he’s an attractive commodity to some (or many?) coaches of other schools now.
It’s wide open with the Transfer Portal and NIL nowadays, like it or not.
