Yeah! I was looking for the right thread title to insert my comments on our team’s performance in this game. I guess this thread is as good as any, so here goes:
Our team played like sh_t last night. I don’t know what they were trying to do on offense, especially in the first half.
The wildly...
I believe Coach Key’s biggest asset is that he is a realist. He knows what it takes to win in football. He served as an assistant under Saban and O’Leary. No frills and no baloney.
Just so that y’all know — and today, I’m sure many will think it’s funny (I do), but it’s true — at my high school’s end-of-regular-season football banquet, for entertainment our high school football coach used a movie projector to replay the entire 1962 Alabama-Georgia Tech football game.
The 7-6 win over undefeated No. 1-ranked Alabama in 1962.
Bobby Dodd and Billy Lothridge over Bear Bryant and Joe Namath.
An intense, slobber-knocking nail biter from start to finish. The greatest game ever played on Hugh Inman Grant Field.
Easily.
Keep in mind that at the very least, the two defensive coaches who were recently “moved to office duties” are likely to be replaced.
Please note, I said at the very least. There might be more changes on the defensive coaching staff … who knows?
Stoudamire’s first-year Georgia Tech team is young, but athletic and talented. Thus far its offense has been nearly all free-lance, with few, if any, established offensive play sets.
Given this, the results to date have oscillated wildly, with hot and cold shooting streaks interspersed with...
Lots of free-lance basketball. Few, if any, set offensive plays. Great amount of reliance on athleticism.
Dangerous team if they can gel together well when March rolls around.
I saw him play, many times! From when he played in high school and on to Georgia Tech.
He was an intense competitor. He was very nice to me when I was a young boy. He dated my older sister when she was in high school.
I mean no disrespect toward the City of Birmingham nor their Birmingham Bowl folks. I just thought it was funny — and unusual, or unique? — to see a bowl trophy that features a bearded guy with a bare bottom on his behind. 🤣
It just cracks me up! 🤣
The Birmingham Bowl trophy — won today by Duke — is a three-foot-tall statute of some guy with a bare ***:
They say the statute guy’s name is Vulcan. Some Roman god of forged iron, or something.
Dook can have it. I’m glad our Georgia Tech team wasn’t selected to go to that bowl. Lol

I imagine more will be coming out in the near future.
