  1. Clemson Postgame

Our team got stomped by a much better team with many more better players. Way it goes. Who would have thought — before the season started — that the Syracuse game would be the one that makes or breaks our season.
  2. How do we keep Singleton?

Yes, your editing is spot on! It captures exactly what I meant. I should have typed “to” football players, instead of “for” football players. I really appreciate your helpful editorial suggestion. Thank you!

Re: the rule on cut blocks. I googled it, and found the following article (from 2018): https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/8/30/17472936/block-below-waist-rule-ncaa Apparently the rules regarding cut blocks are a bit more complex than simply cut-blocking five yards or more from the...
  4. GT 45-UVA 17 #GTvsUVA postgame

I think, if I’m not mistaken, that the rule prohibiting cut blocks five yards or more downfield from the line of scrimmage was established in 2018, CPJ’s last year at Georgia Tech.
  5. How do we keep Singleton?

I certainly hope so. I reserve my admiration for football players who believe a college diploma is worth pursuing, above everything else. Especially at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
  6. How do we keep Singleton?

Never can tell what any GT football player will do, given today’s wide-open transfer portal and NIL landscape. A degree from Georgia Tech isn’t worth as much as it used to be for football players, either. It should be, but it isn’t always.
  7. GT 45-UVA 17 #GTvsUVA postgame

CPJ’s 2014 offensive line was his best at Georgia Tech.
  8. GT 45-UVA 17 #GTvsUVA postgame

He really wanted the first down to get to the victory formation! I liked that. Nice win! I was surprised at the winning margin. I had expected a much closer game that could go either way.
  9. Crowd 👍 : Security 👎

One would think that every security guy would know that the students — and other GT fans — were fixing to jump onto the field to swarm and celebrate the upset victory over North Carolina … and that there was nothing they (all security guys) could do anything about it, anyway. You know, like...
  10. Dontae!!!!!

I believe it should suffice to say that the reason(s) are private, and should stay that way. The long, heartfelt hug that Coach Brent Key gave to him, after his tremendous 70-yard touchdown run, told me a lot. And all I need to know. But … it now appears he has succeeded in overcoming whatever...
  11. Game 8 #UNCvsGT Postgame

A couple of weeks ago, after that Miami game, I opined on this board that I thought Coach Cristobal — and his Offensive Coordinator, I forgot his name — simply had a brain fart when they didn’t go into victory formation. Well, I’ve changed my mind. I now believe they wanted to keep running the...

  13. Game 8 #UNCvsGT Postgame

What a thrilling, entertaining, offensive display of a razor-thin game by both teams. The winning margin turned out to be a fine catch in the very back corner of the end zone, made with a tenuous step of a toe, from a last-ditch, desperate, split-second playground-like prayer of a pass thrown...
  14. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

The good ‘ol midline option! It worked!
  15. Game 8 #UNCvsGT Postgame

Bless you, stech. I completely understand. Some things are more important than a ball game. Keep up your support of our Jackets, as best as you can. And take care of your wife. Keep posting here, too! I always love to read what you say — you’re an important member of this board!
  16. In honor of Paul Johnson being at the game tomorrow... what's your favorite memory from his time as coach?

Each and every one of all of the above. OMG! All the memories. I loved Paul Johnson. I still miss him to this day.
  17. Boston College Post Game Thread

Yes. Recruiting. Need to recruit a lot of studs, including linebackers. Many of the players currently on the roster are second, third, fourth-year guys recruited by TFG. I’m willing to give Brent three more years to improve the recruiting at all positions across the board.
  18. Game Winning Drive - Most Impressive Throw?

The improvised playground pass play from King to Leary. Sometimes improvised playground plays turn into game-winners. This one was such.
  19. #GTvsMIA Postgame

Quote from the Miami-sourced article: Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson said he called for the handoff, but didn’t elaborate as to what was said on the headsets before the play was called. Dawson said he didn’t sleep Saturday night and called it “as hard of a loss as I’ve had in my career.”...
