I guess thats true but considering they have won 27 in a row and have beaten teams better than us by 4+ TDs the past two weeks the odds of a win seem pretty low. I will gladly retract everything I have said if we pull off that miracle.
  2. Cuse Postgame

This is just overlooking last year. We went 5-7 last year with two wins over ranked teams. Key was 4-4. We are almost certainly going 6-6 this year with two wins over ranked teams this year. Where was the drastic improvement that you saw over last year? Without Miami refusing to take a knee for...

Then why did we fire the previous guy? Of course you can logically evaluate the results on the field.

I can’t shutoff the part of my brain that actually looks at things logically. Maybe the business world has ruined me in that sense. I don’t expect much next week but hopefully we can win a bowl game and get the team back to a reasonably good level of play next year. Go Jackets!

That’s true, I haven’t posted in a while and I was curious to see the reaction after tonight’s game. Needless to say I was a bit surprised. I know Collins did a number on our fan base but I didnt think it was this bad. We barely beat a bad team playing a TE at QB to get to an 6-6 record and...

I’m not miserable, just objective. I’m not as giddy over tonight’s performance as some, nor am I that excited with a 6-6 season with multiple double digit losses to bad teams, and a miracle victory that should have never happened. Heres Hoping we can get back to being mad at easily winning 7 games.

Here is the progress. We went from being a 5 win team to a 6 win team thanks mostly to the worst coaching mistake in the history of college football. I guess that can be seen as progress but it honestly isn’t much better.
  8. Cuse Postgame

We are celebrating a 6-6 season after a close win over a bad team like we just won the Super Bowl. We used to fire coaches for doing better than this every year. Amazing how far things have fallen.
  9. Official: Brent Key is Georgia Tech Football's Head Coach

I posted it as a combination of voicing my dissatisfaction with the state of the program and somewhat saying goodbye to a board I have been discussing and arguing with people on for over 9 years. I had no other ulterior motives.
  10. Official: Brent Key is Georgia Tech Football's Head Coach

Ive never gloated over losses. Just voiced frustration. I don't think I have much frustration left to give, and im tired of being angry about the program so you are probably safe on this one.
  11. Official: Brent Key is Georgia Tech Football's Head Coach

Now that Key has been officially hired, it marks a turning point in my GT fandom. I had hoped that we were committing to the program going forward with the firing of Collins and TStan. I also had high hopes that JBatt would make a solid hire. That couldn't have been more wrong. Watching us...
  12. General News about Key and his Staff

If we get rid of Long then we still have to pay him, and find someone who wants to take over one of the worst offenses in college football, whose best player just hit the portal, and pay them below the going rate for their position. Just like the HC position, we will settle on the easy cheap...
  13. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

You have to have some kind of balance. You can't keep spending far less than everyone else and expect to have a winning team. If you continue to have a losing team, you are digging a hole as well. One that might be harder, if not impossible to get out of.
  14. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

lol, im not sure who the hero hires you were referring to were then.
  15. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

I just said in the post that you responded to that if we get left out of the next round of expansion, and we have the same financial issues then we should consider moving down to a level where we can compete financially. ACC media rights will be over by then. The ACC itself might be over by...
  16. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

Im not sure I would call Geoff Collins, Paul Johnson and Chan Gailey hero hires. Maybe CPJ as he was looked at as the possible solution to our problem of recruiting. Does it honestly not bother you though that we can't compete with many G5 programs for coaching hires, let alone P5 programs?
  17. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

That's for JBatt to figure out, but we can't keep making mediocre hires, firing them, paying buyouts, making more mediocre hires, etc. etc. It's an endless cycle of frustration and mediocrity. If you have to fund raise just for the sole purpose of being capable of making a good hire then please...
  18. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

The longer we spend like a lower tier G5 program while we stabilize things and pay off debt the further we will fall behind in college football and the more irrelevant we will become. In 10 years or so when the next round of expansion is going on how comfortable are you being the program that is...
  19. HC Candidate/Rumors/Info Thread

Maybe. Probably actually. But there is something to be said for the programs who are going all out right now. It sends a message to the rest of the college football world that we are committed to being a player here. It builds fan excitement. It keeps the media involved. Im not sure what message...
  20. Official: Brent Key is Georgia Tech Football's Head Coach

I just can't see Key cutting Long after one season when Long was the guy he recommended in the first place. Im also not sure we can afford it.
