I believe it is on an upswing. Kyle Sturdivant, Deebo Coleman, Deivon Smith, and Miles Kelly were rated 4* out of high school. Tristan Maxwell and Jalon Moore are talented players. Cyril Martynov appears to have a lot of potential. Blue Cain is a 4* recruit.

I agree with you about patience with Pastner. Paul Hewitt recruited more talent than Pastner so far. The 2004 team 4*s, included BJ Elder, Jarret Jack, Anthony McHenry, Marvin Lewis, Isma'll Muhammad, and Will Bynum. Luke Schencher, Clarence Moore, and Mario West were not 4* but were talented...

Somebody (I guess Dodd) had a hell of an eye for talent needed to play a certain position. I guess Curry grew to like the move.

I would love to see Tristan Maxwell stay healthy all year and have a chance to be productive. The freshmen are probably too green to push for top scorer. Franklin and Terry will likely spend some time adjusting to new surroundings. I think it is a coin flip between Coleman and Kelly for top scorer.

If all of your seven likely candidates average over 8 ppg, I think we will be OK. Jemontae Hill is our mystery man.

Our financial situation is our biggest problem, if there is no improvement in that area, sports that need significant funding will not improve.

Hopefully between Sturdivant and Smith we can generate some offense. As you said Smith has got to learn to pass or shoot off his dribble drives. Sturdivant may get better from more experience and become more confident. The wings have got to move more to get open.

Ralph Friedgen worked for Bobby Ross when he was Head Coach at The Citadel and Maryland. Ross had a good eye for talent in hiring O'Leary. George was DC/DL coach at Syracuse for two years before coming to GT. IMHO Bobby Ross was a great coach and I wish he stayed at Tech.
