It's becoming a pattern and this probably has a lot to do with it. The way the conference has been treated by the selection committee recently is a joke.
The last six regionals we've had to travel to are as follows:
2012 - #1 Florida
2013 - #2 Vanderbilt
2014 - Ole Miss
2016 - #1 Florida
2021 - #4 Vanderbilt
2022- #1 Tennessee
This is part of the reason we've had so much trouble advancing. Not sure what it is about us that they love feeding us...
For clarity's sake I understand the frustration about the post-season. I truly do. I'm a big Yankee fan so I'm not a stranger to disappointing endings in the last 10+ years. What I'm taking issue with is the attitude that this minor extension which, if we're being real, should barely move the...
I only went to Tech for grad school. Where I went to undergrad, whose baseball program I also follow, would kill have the kind of success GT has had under Danny Hall the last 16 years as would hundreds of other schools that play NCAA Division 1 baseball. So from where I sit brat is an...
You mean Clemson, a school that fired their coach because 'NCAA runs are what actually matters', has found that the guy they replaced him with can't even make the NCAA tournament and now they want to fire the replacement guy a couple years later? Interesting. Wonder if there's a lesson here...
Lol some of you are so pressed over a modest extension to a successful coach. Look around. Coaches who consistently make the NCAA tournament rarely get fired. What an entitled, bratty, :clown: fan base.
You do realize that the other game we lost was started by the guy you wanted to start yesterday, he couldn't get out of the 2nd inning, and he hasn't pitched since right? Like I asked before you don't think he'd be on a pitch count himself? I'm not sure we should be giving your takes on game...
Dalton Smith hasn't pitched at all since the Georgia Southern game and in his two appearances this year hasn't even thrown 50 pitches either time. You think he wouldn't have been on a pitch count?
To follow up on this I don't remember what teams DBo was pitching coach for but iirc the Yankees had two pitching coordinators overseeing the the organizational pitcher development plan and his focus was on the lower minors so he spent a lot of time working with college aged pitchers and younger...
Probably three or four weekends into conference play.
Sorry but two separate seasons spaced a year apart where each one had less then 90 plate appearances, one ended via global pandemic and the other affected by a major injury (which he was starting to heat up before it happened), is not...
Over the course of a season it really doesn't make a huge amount of difference but you really want your best guy in the 2 spot. Traditional thinking would put him the 3 spot but that lineup spot comes up with 2 outs and no one base more than anywhere else. It could be problematic when Simpson...
Run expectancy matrices have been created for college baseball and its been found that conclusions still hold for college. At least the last time I checked. It's admittedly been a while.
We disagree here. The other team is expecting a bunt here so unless it's a really well executed bunt the...
It's not even the small ball aspect that's the major problem for me here. This is not a referendum on sacrifice bunting. It's Parada not getting a chance to hit. If 1st base is open they are definitely walking Parada. It's the smart move. If we had that 1st and 3rd situation with Simpson on...
I look forward to your press conference in front of Four Seasons Total Landscaping to tell us how the election of Georgia Tech's baseball team captains are fraudulent.
I'm sorry but any time you take the bat out of the hands of your best player with the game on the line it's a horrendous strategic decision in my eyes. Not to mention Simpson is not a zero at the plate and could have gotten the job done himself or moved everyone along without giving himself up...
You do run the risk of the double play but I would be comfortable taking that risk with Simpson at the plate. He's never grounded into a double play in his college career to this point so I'd roll the dice (https://www.thebaseballcube.com/page.asp?PT=player&ID=227064). If you end up in a 1st...
